Imagine having lunch outside, facing the the Maronne River valley. This is not a restaurant, but rather a museum or interpretation, in an former dairy farm in the mountains. Lunch is served on picnic tables. Food is rustic ("truffade" is a potato and cheese dish, served with cured ham), but excellent. A tour illustrates the cheesemaking tradition. There is also tasting (and sale) of a variety of local cheeses and plant-based ("gentiane") liquors. Highly recommended on a day when the weather is good. Stop there for lunch and the tour on your way to Salers (beautiful village). Allow at least 2 hours. It is prudent to call in the morning to make a reservation for lunch.…

very interesting place to learn about saler cheese. the talk film and demo were all in french but we were given an english fact sheet and only charged the group rate of 3 euro
