Beautiful glasses and impressive frescos
Mar 2019 • Couples
The building is imposing, the second cathedral in Alsace. The interior surprise for the gigantic fresco of a Saint and the beautiful colorful windows and side chapels.

Beautiful and peaceful
Sep 2018 • Couples
I have visited this church a few times and it was always a special experience. It is almost 1000 years old and its beautiful gothic architecture fits the town perfectly. There are so many details to observe, like sculptures or stained glass. Also it is a very peaceful and spiritual place for a prayer. A must-see when visiting Wissembourg.

A wonderful spiritual place with helpful guides and historical information. An art exhibition was also there in June 2018.

Beautiful gothic Roman Catholic Church in the center of town. Was built in 11th century. There’s also an old building a famous monk used to study in there.

Have been in a lot of churches since moving to Germany. Really enjoyed visiting here. Simple. Beautiful windows. Loved the 'cloister' and 'chapel'. Worth a visit.

Very different from other churches.
Absolutely with a visit, the two different spires makes this a special place.
Located in the center of the city and you need to walk all the way around.

Magnificent abbey!
Oct 2016 • Solo
This abbey is a gem, so do not miss it when you are passing by Wissembourg. The information about it is to be found at the left when entering the abbey, under the roman tower. You must see the beautiful rosace windows: the one on the left from the 12th century and the right from the 13th. Just below this window, you will see a fresco painting from the 13th century. When there, you cannot miss the painting of Saint Christopher, so large that the pilgrims could see it immediately. Then go back to the entrance and on the opposite side, you will find the most beautiful cloister of the Rhine. Next to it, you will find the roman chapel.

Peaceful
Sep 2016 • Friends
I enjoyed my visit to the church very much. Despite the many visitors, I could feel the stability, holiness and peace of the place. It truly reminded me how small we are.

When you visit, take time to find the architect and his assistants, just above eye level, holding up columns to the left and right of the altar, respectively.

Gloria in excelsis Deo

I went to visit the lovely town of Wissembourg and went into the St.Peter and St. Paul Kirke. It is just so beautiful! What a privilege to hear the grotesque sound of the Dubois Organ (1766) played by the organist Denise Becker. The St . Christopher painting that dates from the 13th century is a must see. This Church/ Kirke more than just a good experience to visit!
