Having learnt about the Topiary Park in 2019, the events of the last two years delayed our visit. Maybe our expectation was too high but overall I thought the gardens were "tatty". Many of the shaped bushes were in need of attention, to remove dare I say the "clocksprings" or stragglers, that spoilt the overall look and some of the beds were in need of weeding and tidying up - good old fashioned gardening. It was also disappointing that on the terrace is not a cafe but two vending machines that would not be out of place at Barking Station.

Maybe in a few weeks the gardeners will have tidied up and it will look pristine, so visit with low expectations and you may be pleasantly surprised.
Durbuy a short walk across the bridge is quite pretty with an interesting history and excellent eateries.

Not sure why this place got a Certificate of Excellence. We found it rather average, considering the relatively high income price, combined with a parking fee of 7 €. The parking fee is fixed, even if you only stay 1/2 hour which is about the time one can spend there.

The entrance fee is only €4.50 so we thought, why not visit this while in Durbuy?

You receive a vague description of the topiaries and some sort of map to follow around the park, but they are so badly sign posted and some are so poorly maintained (and are frankly, hilariously amateurish!) that they appear to be nothing more than a unpruned giant shrub. We had a great laugh at trying to guess what everything was supposed to be, that is for sure!

Some of the topiaries are cool to look at (the gardener/artist clearly has a passion for the female form, specifically, Pamela Anderson) but they also claim to have a wide range of plants, herbs and flowers to see - almost all of them were dead! Thank goodness for the low entry price, as we just had fun and it turned out to be a hilarious experience. Had it been more expensive to visit, I’d have expected a far higher level of maintenance.

They were spraying (I guess some chemical products?) with a blower while we were walking there with our children. Besides the loud noise, it’s of course far from healthy!! Please stop using chemical pesticides while people are walking around (and preferably always). Thanks!

... but not really that special. For 5 Eur, why not have a 30 minute stroll if you've seen everything in the town.

This park is really nice and we liked visiting it with our grandson, asking him to guess the name of each "sculpture".

Both beautiful and hilarious. Seeing Dolly Parton sitting in a chair or having all these animals such as elephants, crocodiles and other animals cut is so amazing to see.

It is located near the center of Durbuy and the tickets are not expensive. Interesting figures in all shapes and sizes. Recommended

We’ve rated very good as it is clear lots of effort and attention to detail has been put in over the years to create these topiary sculptures but........in some parts it was clear that some pruning was needed to maintain the shapes to the high standard intended.
The admission fee is quite modest at euros 4.50 ( you can get a combined ticket with the mini golf for euros 8) We felt that we would have happily paid a little more if it meant seeing all the sculptures perfectly manicured.
We saw one gardener working hard during our visit but maybe he needs some help!
We were given an interpretation sheet in English which was very helpful in getting the best from each section.
Do visit - it is worth seeing if you like gardens and are in Durbuy.
