Visit to the Krishna Temple at the Chateau is a beautiful experience. The place is nestled on hillocks and with vast green fields surrounding it , there is natural calmness about the place . Add to it, Castle's tour and Museum of Sacred Art and Bhaktivedanta library you have plenty to take away. Go there and have a wonderful time.

Not informed what was involved and expected a normal guided tour of the Chateau not a spiritual one. Started the tour with a 15minute video explaining the spiritual side of the organisation then on to the Chateau itself. Very little mentioned about the history of the Chateau which was disappointing with the emphasis on the spiritual history relating to Hari Krishna. Left the guided. tour after 30 minutes and retreated to the restaurant/cafeteria for a a drink. Unless you are a disciple of ex Beatle George Harrison's ideals than don't bother to visit this place.

Not cleaned up anymore like before. Cool drinks were warm.
You can do a nice walk of 3.5 km which is very well indicated.

This was such an amazing experience. The kids were thrilled about staying in a real castle and we thoroughly enjoyed everything from the beautiful temple and building to the bakery and restaurant to the gorgeous walks in nature. Great boutique as well! One of our favorite experiences on our European tour with something for everyone in the family.

We know this for about 20 years and saw the changement every year.In the beginning they started wtih the castle and the bakery, after they opened a shop with Indien clothes, hygienic product, dry food (all bio and vegetarian). After they opened their restaurant wich is a self-restaurant serving only vegetarien food, but it is very tasty.
We noticed that the last year they are really going on the commercial way.The entree for the visit of their castle (and temple) are high, but at the other hand it is something different.

Its an amazing feeling to visit temple away from my home, India. Extremely peaceful, huge area, and quaint. It looks like being built in a mini castle which makes the visit even more different. Yes, they serve a Vegeterian lunch and have things like incense sticks for sale. And you will meet Indians from various parts of Europe there. So if you want someone for a quick hindi chat, you should visit the temple if you are nearby :-)

We first had lunch in the restaurant. Menu is restricted but food is nice. Vegetarian made with self grown ingredients. The home made ice cream is a MUST !!! Delicious.
The tour of the castle includes a video-presentation about Hare Krishna philosophy, a visit of the temple, 2 museums and the garden. If you are open to new visions on life it is a wonderful experience. The visit ends in the shop and bakery where you can buy home made pastries and cookies (delicious too).
Overall nice and very interesting experience.
