Small but informative and structured

Informative and structured museum. Children were able to understand the war and not to be scared. Recommended

Surprisingly/unexpectedly interesting war museum
Feb 2021
Surprisingly/unexpectedly interesting war museum. I went there with 9 years old boys. Very good exposition with some interesting videos. It is more or less all about the II WW battle around the city. I have not seen so many different II WW guns.
For the boys one of this trip highlights.

It’s a phenomenal private collection of war history for the small town and surrounding region.

How this museum is not rated 5* all the way baffles me. Giles, the current family member in charge and his father Before have done an amazing job! This is part of our history as Europeans, savage as it me be, layes out out in a fantastic way, translated for all to understand. War machines, weapons, medical Instruments and all forms of attire there to see, read and learn along with video footage and description! What they’ve collected, refurbished and restored (Giles has personally restored many of the machines himself, formally a mechanic) is unbelievable and there to learn, understand and ponder. This Place is a must and an absolute bargain for what it offers. Next year more artifacts from his collection are to be added. I can’t wait and will be back. My partner has no interest in war and conflict but was astonished at the quality of the information at hand about the history of what our grandparents went through. Simply brilliantly put together. A must visit.

A visit to this museum tells you the story of the Ardennes offensive 1944-1945. This town was in the middle of the fighting. The artifact are numerous and very interesting. When in the area, I can recommend this museum.

interesting but not mind blowing

interesting as it has alot of day to day items rather than just firearms etc. feels a little dated but if you are in to your military history it is certainly worth visiting

Superb Little Place
Jul 2019 • Solo
Been to lots of places like this and I was very impressed with the amount of authentic stuff they had. I’m well read on ww2 so don’t want multimedia things or educational type displays, just want to see authentic ww2 “stuff” and this place has a lot crammed in to a relatively small building. Lovely wee town it’s in too.
Really enjoyed it.

A private managed museum in the centre of La Roche
Jun 2019 • Friends
We visited this museum before we arrived in Bastogne for 3 days. Layout is somewhat messy but exhibits, photos are excellent. Also very competitively priced at 8 Euros entrance fee.
La Roche was decimated during the Battle of the Bulge and the evidence is clear to see in some of the exhibits - La Roche today is very pretty and location of museum makes it easy to include during your visit. Recommended.

Fantastic experience
Feb 2019
our second visit to this museum in 7 years, and it once again amazed us with the collections, photos, exhibits and the fascinating story it tells of the Battle of the Bulge, and particularly how it affected this beautiful little town. It's an incredible story that should never be forgotten. A family run museum who have hosted many war veterans over the years. including the incredible soldiers who liberated the town.

Skip the Bastogne war museum and come here!
May 2019 • Couples
My husband and I came here on a whim after visiting Bastogne. This museum gives a great overview of WW2's affect on La Roche, and their collection of original artifacts is incredible. They even have an enigma! If you are a WW2 history aficionado do not miss this place!

Best WW 2 Ardenne museum
Apr 2019 • Friends
Go and visit this museum it has an amazing collection of weapons and equipment put in realistic scenery like a snapshot of a time long gone. Honestly, the museum was much better than the Bastogne war museum the details put in the sceneries are just worth every minute spend there and every penny, actually it was much cheaper than what you will expect for a collection like that. Thanks for your effort.
