It is a ok skiresort.
It comprises of a few small ski areas, connected by bus services.
Each ok size but not very big.
Lots of nice places too eat and drink on the slopes.
All together an ok valley. If they make some of the skiareas a bit bigger and improve the bussconections it would make it a lot better.

Bad Gastein is a nice place for skiing. There is only one way down back to Bad Gastein but the Stubnerkogelbahn will connect with other lifts to Angertal and Bad Hofgastein. There are some excellent slopes. Even one of the longest in this area. The views are absolutely breathtaking.

Second time I visited Bad Gastein. It's a great place for skiing. It's true what another reviewer wrote, there is only one way down back to Bad Gastein, it is part intermediate, part easy slope. However when you go up with the Stubnerkogelbahn it will connect with other lifts to angertal and beyond. There are some excellent slopes high up in the mountains where it is very quiet and makes for excellent skiing. The views are absolutely breathtaking. This area gives you a great variety of slopes of all difficulties and access to a lot of great mountain side restaurants.

Well, that is why I dislike skiing in Austria, almost every time bad weather, overpriced skipasses and, compared to Italy or France, very, very dangerous pistas, I mean, no safety nets around them, even the curve surounded with big trees, shame, for that portion of money? But advanced skiers are on good place, very good cuisine at the restaurants.

Bad Gastein is really very-very bad resort for skiing.
B14 ski slope is really very bad, only one slope you can use to return from top of mountain to Bad Gastein.
Never use this resort with small children and with people who never use before ski or snowboard.
Bad Gastein have only red and black slope. Blue slope is very narrow and very bad.
I am really love skiing and open for new opportunities, but I was surprised...
Never been before in the bad resort like that.
If you reading this topics, believe me is really bad.
If you planning to visit, use the slope B11, B17 and B18.
B20 is not really black, red-black, but slope more than 45-50 degrees.
Be careful and safe.
Never use Bad Gastein if you have a choice!!!!!

If you wish to relax and have a great view just take this tour climb to the mountains or have a nice swim in the lake. This region is a wonderful vantage point.

Skiing, swimming, bathing, relaxing and partying. All in one in Bad Gastein. And the town itself also has some beauties.

Huge and diversified slopes, long runs and comfortable lifts. The view point and the bridge on Stubnerkogel are brilliant.

Despite poor conditions and the fact that only 30% of the terrain for open, we still had a great week in BG. The town is genuinely fascinating - waterfalls in the centre, statuesque buildings, upscale eating and drinking to be had. The infrastructure can't be faulted, and although it is very hilly walking up to the lift station, there's a state-of-the-art ski deposit available for rent, well worthwhile. The ski bus system works well - we trravelled to Dorfgastein and back easily. Popular with Swedes and Russians. The thermal spa is a must. Three-hour passes cost about 23 euros, but are worth it - there's a host of different saunas and steam rooms to explore, plus different pools indoors and outdoors. Be prepared to get your kit off on the top floor, and remember to bring an extra towel to go under your feet in the sauna - they are very particular on hygiene!
