We kayaked through the islets with our guide Vladimir. He told us about the flora and fauna and the history of the area, the key old families and who owned each of the islands. His stories were memorable and his English was terrific. He stopped...More

These islands are beautiful (though I'm not completely sure there are really 365 of them). One of them is even home to four monkeys which kept us entertained.

If you take a day trip to Granada make sure to take a boat ride out to these islands, it's so peaceful and relaxing. Plus stop by 'monkey island' to feed the monkeys fruit. I wish I could own one of these islands myself, there...More

This city is by far the most beautiful city that I have visited in Latin America. The old colonial style building, café, terrace restaurants and the central park make for a beautiful day of just walking, browsing, shopping, eating, drinking all at inexpensive prices. Nicaraguan...More

A lovely way to spend an afternoon cruising round the islets. We saw lots of birds, monkeys and of course some fantastic properties. Sat in a bar on an islet watching lake Nicaragua whilst sitting next to a swimming pool - very bizarre.

A worthwhile boat ride through some pretty islets. Worth the $20, but skip the lunch - it's really not worth the extra. Eric's tours are very good and our guide was really good at spotting birds.

When in Granada if you don't want to spend more than a couple of hours for a day trip, or if you don't want to overspend, then try one of the two hour boat tours of the Islets. During your two hour tour, you sill...More

You should be able to negotiate a tour of any length. The guides seem more than happy to make a little more money.

You bring US. You can change your money at the bank or exchange from street corner vendors, they're pretty much at the same rate as banks. ATM's will give out one or the other, local or US.

The guides will help you in and out of the boat but they are pretty steep. There aren't many of them though, maybe ten steps or so on each isleta. It wasn't a physical excursion at all.
