Very interesting visit to this church. You pay to go up the tower which gives you a part birds eye view of the surrounding area. You have to also pay to go into the main part of the church. Would I recommend a visit. Yes, but it's not anything special.

One of the most beautiful churches in Granada. Laying on the end of the main walking street in Granada, La Calzada. Worth a visit.

Plan your trip so that you can be at the belltower at sunset...you will not be disappointed. While there are no real 'tourist' things to do here, experiencing the rich history of the church is well worth the short walk from downtown Granada. This is an active church, so services are still held here. The staircase to the belltower is... More

As with pretty much all other churches in Central America, the decaying and faded facade of this large church is fascinating enough and it (as always) then reveals a very polished and bright interior. This church was undergoing a new paint job when I visited in Nov 2016 and when it's finished, I'm it will be even brighter. Nice stained... More

I have visited many older churches throughout Europe and sprinklings of other places, this one is definitely beautiful, the architecture is very tasteful, it is nestled in the midst of the town and I loved the opportunity to go up into the tower, see all around the town and take some beautiful pictures.

My top favorite church in Granada. At the end of the mainstreet, la Calzada you will find this church. Old and woren but that just makes it more beautiful.

After a stroll on the town visit the church to see an amazing sunset and dito views. View surprised me as the church isn't that high. Great to see how the city is build and how it looks from above. The architecture is seen at its finest.

The white roof of the cathedral provided a sharp contrast to the surroundings. Get up to the top of a good view of the area. Definitely bring sun glasses as the glare from the white is pretty painful on the eyes.

The history of Guadalupe Church is the history of Granada. The church is the oldest church is Granada, which is the oldest city on the mainland of the Americas. It was pillaged by pirates, and was used as a last stand by William Walker and his mercenaries. It looks rundown from the outside, but it is a functioning and very... More
