We came to visit this church where my mother was christened and where my grandparents lived in 1914. We were lucky to meet the Vicar who kindly showed us around and was extremely helpful. There are some 180 members of the Anglican communion locally who support the church. A day to remember as my grandmother had such lovely reminiscences if her time here in what is now a very different age.

In this church you can find some evidence of the British in Burma. There is a memorial plaque to the regiments stationed around Maymo; to the aircrews who re-supplied the XIV army; and a lectern presented by the Welch regiment on the liberation of Maymo from the Japanese; and a memorial stone in the churchyard. Inside there are memorials to British who had spent their lives in Maymo bringing education and medical support to the area.

After seeing more temples, pagodas and stupas than you could poke a stick it, it was lovely to set foot inside this beautiful old church, particularly in light of the fact that it was later dedicated to the men who dies in WWII. It was very serene to just sit there quietly and take in the surroundings. Definitely worth a visit.

The church is small but reminds me the churches in Great Britain immediately. Very authentic and simple.

Those with a soft spot of British empire regalia will appreciate visiting this church which, by all accounts, seem to be kept in excellent conditions by donations coming in from England and Scotland.
The mind-blowing condition of the mahogany doors, the preacher‘s desk with it commemoration plate, an oasis of peace and common support still evident after more than a hundred years.

The All Saints Anglican church is a rememberance of colonial times. The church is nice, but if you habe traveled around in Europe it is certinately no architechtural highlight. But if you pass by it is certainly worth a stopover.
