Wow! I couldn’t believe I stumbled across this ashram in my online search for yoga in rishikesh. Dr. Amrit is such a lovely person full of laughter, positivity, and happiness. From deep meditation to pranayama to asana practice to incredible Ayurvedic food to restorative Ayurvedic treatments...I found everything I wanted in a beautiful setting with wonderful staff. We walked to the Ganga for practice and took a dip, too! The teachers are all knowledgeable and very helpful. My room was just perfect with private bathroom. I stayed for a 7-day Ayurveda retreat and wish I could have stayed at least another 7 days. I hope to return and soak up more of this ashram again. I truly feel like a new person.

What a beautiful, wonderful and loving stay! And thats how even Dr Amrit Raj(founder)is. I happened to stay at Maa Yoga Ashram(post my Yamunotri & Gangotri dham) spontaneously to rest for 2-3 days before heading for Kedarnath & Badrinath dham. But i ended up staying for 09 days by cancelling my dho dham. Yoga and Ayurveda treatment was very impressive. Food was soulfull. Staff was great. Dr Amrit keeps you engaged with various activities that would bring so much happiness. He has been very friendly, motivating and inspiring. Young and energetic. Plus he cares for your family and prays for them. I could not be more happier than being at this place, this was my first trip to the north and especially himalayas. Without any second thoughts please experience Maa Yoga Ashram, if you are in Rishikesh. Its very close to a beautiful Ganges beach. I will be back here soon. Going home with lots of positivity and energy and never ending smiles and laughs of Dr Amrit. Dr Rakesh(father of Dr Amrit) though i met him for a very short time, has ensured my wellbeing all ways. Love Maa Yoga Ashram. Stayed here from 02 Nov 2020 to 10 Nov 2020.

Really nice yoga school with great teachers. We attended drop-in classes for beginners and hatha yoga and loved them. Single class is 300 rup, discounts if you take more claasses. Yoga 3-5-7 day programs are also available.

They put me up in a small old room all by myself on a floor. Inspite of requests to change my room they didn't. I spent 6 sleepless nights. Food was okay for 2 days but then he went on a break making the food inedible for the remainder of my stay. They charged 3600 per day which is too much for their quality and services. 2 yoga sessions per day went well. Amrit Raj charged 1500 for a 5 minute Nadi consultation and kept on telling that we'll meet up again for a through discussion which never happened. Overall pretty disappointed with my stay.

Maa Yoga Ashram , kudos to what your doing . Totally amazing
The type of meditation techniques taught by Dr Raj are mind-blowing, they not only drift you from your several thoughts but also leave you in a relaxed state.
Thank you Maa Arogyadham.

I stayed for about a month at Maa Yoga Ashram. This center is so magical. The food is great, the yoga classes are phenomenal, and the massage treatments are so relaxing. The ashram is located in a very convenient area in Rishikesh. It's about a fifteen minute walk from the downtown shopping area and about fifteen minutes from the Ganga River and beach. I saw a huge difference in my mind, body, and spirit after my first five days here. I loved Maa Yoga Ashram, I came back to stay for another five days later on in my trip. The staff treats you like family and makes you feel right at home!

This is a magical place to stay. Up above the hill, away from the chaos and stress of Rishikesh, this ashram is perfect for those who are looking for a peaceful stay. The facilities are clean, simple, and comfortable. The food is clean, nutritious, and delicious. The entire grounds is buzzing with beautiful and peaceful energy.

My friend and I went to Maa yoga ashram for the three day yoga retreat. The ashram has a very beautiful view with large rooms and great food. Since I only paid for the three day retreat I obviously cannot speak for any other package. The three day package was extremely over priced. To pay $250 USD in India you should be getting quite the experience. There was absolutely no structure to the days, we were given no direction as to what we suppose to be doing, the yoga was good, however considering you can go to a drop in yoga class anywhere in rishikesh for 200 rupees, it was not impressive. The food was tasty but consisted of your typical Indian rice, dahl and chapati. The Ayurvedic treatments were good but nothing special. Dr. Amrit is a very nice, friendly man however he is very business oriented and more focused on making money than teaching and practicing a yogic lifestyle. The Ayurvedic teachings were more like basic nutrition advice and Dr. Amrit was unable to provide any detailed answer to any questions asked regarding nutrition or Ayurveda. Overall I was not impressed with Maa yoga ashram and would not recommend it.

Yogi Dr. Amrit Raj is a very charismatic and charming individual. The Maa Yoga Ashram is a fairly nice facility but it is in a very remote area of Rishikesh. A group of us visited for just a few hours. The Yoga class led by Dr. Raj was nothing really special and most of Dr. Raj' advice was simple, nutritional advice. Dr. Raj seemed very focused on signing people up for consultations and treatments at typical very expensive western prices similar to Europe or the U.S., his spa facilities were nothing special, however the therapist was pretty good but spoke no English. Overall I was not very impressed with Dr. Raj's approach which in my opinion was more about making money than helping people. Rishikesh is filled with so many foreigners in search of yoga, Ayurveda, and meditation that the demand for these services is high, so I suggest being very careful about who you choose to give money to and spend time with.

Dear Guest, Thank you for visiting our center and taking the time to write a review. We are glad that your overall experiences with Dr. Raj, our Panchakarma therapist and Maa Ashram’s facilities were positive. We understand that people having differing preferences with regard to a facility’s location. In creating our center we intentionally selected a location that was a bit removed from the center of activity, yet would still allow for an easy 15 minute walk to the Laxman Jhula area of Rishikesh. We selected a location with sweeping views of the Himalayan foothills to provide an environment most conducive to healing and contemplation. Dr. Raj has a deep commitment Ayurvedic medicine and to helping people enjoy it’s benefits; it is hoped that his passion and enthusiasm is received with a positive connotation rather than a negative one.
