The Natural Bridge Zoo Park is and always has been privately owned and has never accepted any sort of federal, state, or local funding. The Natural Bridge Zoo opened its doors to the general public in 1972 and has been growing ever since. The main purpose for Natural Bridge Zoo has always been the propagation and rearing of threatened or endangered species. We try to offer students and the general public the opportunity to learn about the living animals, birds, and reptiles that share the earth with us. Many children have little or no contact with natural living things in their daily lives. While television programs are educational, there is nothing like standing next to a giraffe, getting nuzzled by a llama, hugging a baby dromedary camel, or gazing into the eyes of a huge white tiger to make you feel and appreciate our wonderful world of animals.

We saw the sign and decided to stop. Our 13 and 15 year olds both like animals and we were pleasantly surprised by the number and variety of the animals here. The kids rode the elephant but the surprise hit was the large cage they have full of parakeets. You walk in and feed Them as they fly around you... More

We have been here many times and will go many more. They are working on a new bathroom. This time when we went it was a cool cloudy day and so the animals were out and about more than usual. My 18 month old son had a blast and my 12 year old still has a good time. She loves... More

I have been to this zoo maybe 50 times in my life, at different times in my kids life. When they were small we loved feeding the goats and donkeys when they were middle aged we fed the baby tigers and when they were bigger they rode the Elephant. If you listen to your heart and see how much they... More

Best Zoo ever. We stopped on our way home from. North Carolina and it was worth the detour. The staff was so friendly.

Amazing time. Not cheap but good food and worth every penny. Never have I been that close to animals like this. The camels are rough and will charge in the car to get food. Be careful holding your bucket and be prepared for a messy car. Wet naps will go a long way. Wear tennis shoes as well.

Not a very big zoo but the Grand kids loved it. The animals were in clean cages and well kept. Our grand kids loved the birds and the monkeys. We will go back soon.

One of the few places left in the U.S. where you can still ride and pet an elephant. It was fanastic

Stopped on a whim... Raining...cold... But had a delightful time. You could tell all the animals were very well cared for, but I agree with another reviewer... The Cougars & the white tiger looked sad... NOT mistreated, just sad... But other than that it was a great little side trip!

My family and I really enjoyed our visit to Natural Bridge Zoo. Feeding the giraffes and the camels was a highlight of our visit. The parakeet house is great. Being able to interact with the animals, including the elephant ride, is a wonderful part of this zoo and an amazing experience. There are chickens and baby chickens walking freely in... More
