After hiking Mt. Rogers earlier in the day, we decided to drive to the top of Whitetop to see the views while being lazy. They were amazing! We were in awe of the beauty that you can see from your car!

If you are a little lazy for that hike to the top of mount rogers mountain. This is a great substitute. However the road is quite bad and I wouldn't go more than 15 mph. It is definitely worth the bumps of the road.

Being a previous resident of whitetop I can say that this is my favorite place to be. I love the view that you are able to aquire on top of the mountain and being able to see the mountains of North Carolina is pretty amazing.

Yes....I am biased. I grew up in the area, moved away....but I always come back for the peace and beauty. Whitetop is easily accessible via a dirt road. This road is maintained very well, but be warned, there are a few rough patches. Once out...More
