What a top shelf experience visiting this wonderful national treasure, which includes Washington's tomb. Wear comfortable shoes as there's some walking to the far reaches of the estate, but there's also a shuttle.

Seeing the resting place of our first president was a great honor. Employee gave great information and answered questions. The grounds are so beautiful.

Very quaint area. Gorgeous trees surrounding the tomb with helpful staff. Great place to take pictures and soak up the history.

This obviously is not the birthplace, but yet the final resting place of General George Washington one of our founding fathers, his wife and about 30 other family members. A must see.

Birthplace is not at Mount Vernon. He was born near Colonial Beach and then grew up at Ferry Farms. Photo is of his tomb, which is nice but is not the best part of a visit to Mount Vernon

George Washington rests in a National Monument right on the original property. It can be viewed all hours that the attraction is open.

I learned on the tour “spoiler alert” the tomb was moved from the edge of the property due to possible erosion but it took the family 30 years because of a disagreement. The original vault is still there but this is a magnificent monument to...More

A bit confusing to see Mount Vernon address as it is Colonial Beach, VA. Start from visitor center with exhibits, film and every hour ranger talk. you can enter and explore this interesting monument for free. Do not miss the ranger talk.
