No wonder Washington loved this place so much, it has everything: sprawling grounds, cool woods, water front... We made a day trip here and I'm so glad we did. We were on guard because we had heard bad reviews about the staff, but the only...More

Thank you for visiting George Washington's Mount Vernon and for taking the time to share your feedback. We regret to hear if you experienced any rude behavior inside the Mansion. Please know that we expect more from our staff, just as Washington would. We hope...More

Touring Mount Vernon included lots of walking. Glad we had comfortable shoes. The grounds are beautiful! I recommend loading the app onto your I-phone and save the $7 for the audio tour which is loaded onto an I-phone. But be sure to have a full...More

Incredible piece of American history that has been impeccably maintained. The grounds and views, especially from behind the home, are fantastic. Truly an incredible experience. If you're a history nerd, you'll love this place.

Make time to see Mount Vernon as a highlight and not an afterthought. It's memorable, the much loved home of a legendary couple. George Washington deserves the title of "larger than life" as does Martha. As a young man until his death this home was...More

What a grand attraction this has become. I used to live in the area in the 1970's and have visited the site infrequently since I moved away. The restoration work, the thoughtfulness of the historical presentations and the management of the site is wonderful. Thanks...More

George Washington's Mount Vernon is an immersive historical experience. The landscaping is remarkable. The historic artifacts help one to understand what it was like to live in that time period. This is also a great place for dogs, as it's quite dog friendly. I didn't...More

We visited Mount Vernon on a hot afternoon. There is a very nice visitor's center with a museum which is accessible to all. The home did not seem to be wheelchair accessible. There is a lot of walking if you want to see everything. All...More

This was my 2nd trip to Mount Vernon; I love this place and wanted to bring my husband and children to see. To walk where George Washington walked, to feel the staircase banister that he would have held on to, to roam his estate, and...More

The grounds and house are beautiful and well maintained. When you buy your ticket, you are assigned a time to tour the house, very much like an amusement park. You walk through the house in a queue instead of small guided groups. Walking through is...More
