This is a longer covered bridge that is very nicely preserved. Best photo is fron the east side. Make sure you see the interior timbers.

The location of this bridge is so peaceful. The sounds of the water the shades of the trees and the smell of the old wood brought back so many fond memories Truly a hidden treasure.

One-lane covered bridge. Worth the stop, especially for a picnic (only one table at the pull off) or to skip stones under the bridge.

Took a quick trip to the bridge after seeing a small sign. Fun to drive, as it is open to car traffic. It sounds cliche, but it does feel like going back in time. Close to Shenandoah Caverns, Route 11 Potato Chips experience/factory.

One lane covered bridge crossing the Shenandoah River just south of Mt. Jackson, VA. There is a parking area on the east side, so you can get out of your car and look around. When driving across, watch for oncoming traffic.

Stopped off at the Meems Bottom Covered Bridge. Never been through one before, and it was fun. There is a pull-over area on the south side of the bridge with parking for about 6 cars, and a picnic area. You can walk up to the...More

There's a hidden gem in the small Shenandoah Valley town of Mount Jackson, VA by the name of Meems Bottom Covered Bridge right off of Route 11. If you're ever in the area (e.g. visiting Luray Caverns, Route 11 Potato Chips, New Market Battlefield, etc.)...More
