We stopped checking out options for dipping our Kayaks into the James and this is a terrific locaiton. Popular with Paddle boards. Met with individuals who paddle upstream and float back. Nice and clean park. Picnic areas, trails and convenient parking with boat launch. Can get busy at times.

This is a small park with a lot of activity. There are walkers, runners, rowers, stand up paddleboarders and kayakers. This is a great place to take a picnic lunch and watch the activity

We really like this park! It is on the James River with river acess, picnic tables and restroom building. Mostly woodland trails (cleared and graded) with some paved paths. Dogs on leases are welcome.

This is the park used by several rowing teams including teams from University of Richmond, and VCU, as well as a few High School teams I believe. The launch dock is excellent and easy to use. The park itself is smallish, however very tidy and usually pretty quiet. Bathrooms are raised above the river level and usually quite clean. There... More

Skip the crowds and rocks and head up to the deep James. Easy water access for paddleboards, kayaks, and fishing from spots and floating docks. 3+ miles of shady trails for running or dog walking. Nice clean bathrooms and playgrounds too. On weekend afternoons the river can get a little busy with powered boats and water skiing.

This park's biggest asset is it's location. It is RIGHT on the James River. At sundown on a summer evening the view is spectacular. There are lots of little trails that you can either walk or run [ in my case]. The only precaution is after a heavy rain the trails right beside the river will be flooded for a... More

No, Columbus never discovered Robious Landing Park in Chesterfield, but you will discover walking trails, people on paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, and, in warm weather, water skiers on the James River. You can even use the canoe launch ramp, (sorry no power boats at this ramp.) Cookout spots, picnic tables along the river banks, and even a decent public restroom.

It is a quiet place to enjoy the majestic James River. The river is wide, with nothing but trees on the far side and the view upstream is relaxing as it is far.

This is a small wooded park in Chesterfield County on the south bank of the James River. Parking is free but it can be inadequate on busy days. There is a boat landing for small craft like canoes, kayaks and tubes (no motors). Other amenities include: picnic tables/ramadas, fishing pier/dock, 3.5 miles of hiking trails, playground, volleyball court, and restrooms.... More
