We went to this cool park to stroll the nice paved trails, great boardwalks, and interesting coal mining historical sites. It was an easy walk pushing a stroller with 2 older grands running along. Bass in the lovely lake had lots of fishermen out !! It’s wonderful for hunting Pokémon- awesome stops too!!

This is my favorite little local park. For perspective - this is a neighborhood park located alongside a decently traveled road and from various parts of the path you will see peoples backyards through the woods. If your expectation is a forest hideaway, this is not the place. However, it is the perfect spot to get some sunshine and exercise in the area. There are two sides of the park. One side goes to the ruins of the coal mine (with informational signs). Connected by a tunnel that goes under the road, the other path goes around and across a lake populated with geese and ducks. There is also a small old family cemetery that is worth a peak around if you are interested in the history. The paths are all very well maintained and easy to maneuver. When the weather is warm, I have often come across people hanging out in the grass playing guitar and reading. There are also lots of families out with their kids, riding bikes and walking dogs. It is very relaxed and quiet. I always park in the lot on the opposite side of the lake and have never run into a parking issue personally. People tend to be coming and going a lot so in my experience the spaces open up pretty fast. Highly recommend it if you're nearby and want to get out of the house for an hour or two.

There are 2 sides to these trails with a tunnel connecting them. Great for families, pets individuals. Parking is available on both sides of the street (Woolridge) but during certain times, both lots have been filled. The trail measures about 1 mile on each side so it's easy to complete a couple of miles on each visit or just one mile if pressed for time. Lots of history with signs and remnants of old buildings on east side of Woolridge.

Love living so close to this park! The trails, the historical content, the pond & wildlife...all within walking distance. We run around this park, go for walks, see concerts, and even ride the trails when we are looking for a quick ride. It’s just a nice little nature park!

Quiet and secluded...a hidden gem. Fun to walk the dog, ride bikes, of even fish (catch and release).
