- Eileen SFairfax, Virginia122 contributionsOk but Not my favoriteBeautiful property but that was the best part. W became here for the wines which were just ok. This was our second visit and both times the pours for the tastings were so meager, we were able to only get one sip. When we commented, we got a sorry look. And the wines were just ok. Wish I could give a better review, but VA has better options for wineries. I really wanted to give them a 2.5 rating but that wasn't an optionVisited February 2020Traveled with friendsWritten March 20, 2020
- B M29 contributionsGood wedding location, unique wineWe looked at Cana as a possible wedding location, and although we chose a different venue, it's a beautiful place with lots of options for a gorgeous ceremony. It snowed the day we were there, but it would also be lovely in the spring or summer with everything green. The wines were quite different than we've had at other northern Virginia wineries: that is, different grapes and production methods. The staff was knowledgeable and pleasant.Visited December 2017Traveled as a coupleWritten March 2, 2018

- Thomas PAlexandria, Virginia26 contributionsSuper Experience!Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The staff went out of their way to engage with us and share their recommendations on the wines that were available. Of the three wineries we visited in Middleburg today we got the best all around feel from this one. We drank reds and they were all very good- we took two home with us. Disagree with several other reviews that talked down to the condition of the facilities and the quality of the wine. We found the facilitates well up to date and clean and spotted staff disinfecting tables after customers had left. We liked the wine best of the neighboring wineries and have been enjoying reds up and down the east and west coast and in Italy for three decades. The pulled pork and brisket food truck on site was a winner as well. Delicious brisket. Recommend you give Cana a try; we felt this place had a great combination of wine, atmosphere, and staff.Visited September 2022Traveled as a coupleWritten September 3, 2022
- Paul BWest Cornwall, Connecticut2 contributionsPerfect for people and petsDog Friendly! The favorite place for my lady and me. The charcuterie is nice, the wine flights are reasonable. Sitting outside, overlooking the vineyard, a nice fire in the pit. We wanted to attend one of the concert series, but apparently, the last weekend in August is not on the schedule. The indoor pavilion provides shelter from the weather, although the covered breezeway between the main building and the pavilion is suitable for light rain.Visited June 2022Written August 16, 2022
- Charles T8 contributionsGood spot! This is a very nice place to enjoy some wine and socialize with friends. The outdoor area is great and has a great vibe. The wines are good and everything was clean and well maintained. Food is ok...pre-packaged meats and cheese/crackers....but a great place to go and we will return. Staff were very friendly.Visited May 2021Written July 2, 2021

The wine was delicious and the staff very accommodating. The beautiful wood burning fireplace added to the coziness of the room as well as warming our soggy clothes!Visited March 2023Written March 26, 2023
- Sylvia TNokesville, Virginia3 contributionsApril WeddingHad a wedding at this venue and met with Mom and Bride present - they promised that we could have food trucks where agreed and could get in the pavilion at 4 p.m. An older man did not want to let the food trucks go where we had agreed in two meetings with Megan. Had to hold my own and rode with food trucks to agreed location. Was told that they had to have their own bartender for the wine. They did not, we had staff on hand that handled it. They just put it on the counter at 5:30 p.m. - Wedding started at 6 p.m. - They served wine for several quests while we were setting up. They left only to go outside and sit waiting for smores that we had for our guests at a later time. There was disorganization, too many chiefs, delays and an owner or older gentleman that was petty. No electric, etc. until start time of 6 p.m. There was an other older man that worked hard and did all he could to get tables, chairs, etc. set up as they had promised at 3 p.m. to start doing. He and two ladies started at 4 p.m doing this. If we had not had food trucks, nothing would have been done in a timely manner due to their delays.Visited April 2021Written April 24, 2021

- Muffarah MSeaford, Virginia787 contributionsDelightful placeCana Vineyards is staffed by older people who actually know their wines with not one astonishingly beautiful woman is in sight to pour! They are very classy, beautifully appointed indoor area, with an upstairs section prohibiting kids and having a talented musician. The restrooms are spacious, modern and very welcoming. They offer a very pretty basket of breads and cheeses embroidery on the side saying "Leave me here at Cana" with the excellent food tucked up gaily with a red napkin and a cheeseboard and real knife. There are adequate supplies of napkins, paper plates and utensils neatly put in the center of the room for everyone to use. The tables are wrought iron, more suited for the outdoors, but there is so much seating that no one would be without a seat. They have mulled wine kits to die for. Staff picks up on the slightest hints and immediately adjusts the tastings to the clients. Parking is convenient and adequate, but the best part of Cana is not just their excellent wines but their staff.Visited March 2018Traveled as a coupleWritten March 12, 2018

I'm an avid wine taster and this wine was pretty awful. If they'd had the discard bucket on the counter, I would have discarded every one. They don't grow any of their own grapes yet, and only some of the wines are even made with grapes from anywhere in Virginia (some California, etc.). Some of the wines are made with apples instead of grapes - a customer to my left likened it to Boone's Farm. The beautiful building drew us in when we drove by on Route 50, but wine tasting should be about wines, not buildings. There were some families with small children eating goldfish crackers and other snacks from home. Definitely not worth the $10 tasting fee.
I suggest you try Delaplane Cellars instead - only $8, free music on weekends, real, delicious Virginia wines and an adult environment.

What a HUGE disappointment. Someone with some investment money jumped on the winery "bandwagon" and failed to do an ounce of homework and assumed a beautiful pole barn with some porches will cover for their inexperience. First, they have no vines in maturity and buy their wine off the shelf and relabel it. Their costs must be almost retail because starting price for a bottle of their below average wines is north of $22 dollars and tastings are around $10 a person for what amounts to a half glass of wine. Whats more, they didn't even stop and think that their wines might be chilled in ice, so they missed winery-bandwagon 101 that advises waterproof labels.....anyway, that's the petty stuff.
We went out on a beautiful afternoon to try the place out and found a seat on the deck after unloading almost $100 on their gimmicky bread, hummus and cheese baskets and some of their relabeled Manischewitz. And older gentleman whom I believe was a manager or partner came over to a friend and astutely avoided typical hospitality industry questions such as "how is everything?" or "are you guys enjoying your day?" "anything that I can get for you?" and went right for "If he makes noise, you'll have to leave this deck" to a friend of mine with a newborn heavily asleep in a carrier.
I'll admit that I silently cheer management intervention when a child is unruly or inconsolable in confined areas, but this sharp preemptive grunt about an infant-solidly unconscious in an outdoor setting while its parents and their friends were smearing $13 hummus on hunks of hard bread and drinking...well....what were we drinking? The dessicated label was all over the table and ice bucket...
In summary, you'd be better served by dropping in on someone who really only tolerates you during the workday, offering to buy their old cooking wine at 2x retail and sitting on their porch while they keep walking by to see if you've left yet.

Cana is still my favorite winery. They have adder a new covered tasting area with new tables and chairs, 3 tasting bars and a great staff. Their Rhapsody is my new favorite and the rest of the family likes it as well. They are pet and family friendly. So bring a picnic lunch and the kids and Fido enjoy the view and the fine wine. Depending on your group and your taste in music on the weekends spend about 2 or 3 hours there. It is also handicap accessible for all ages
