I booked this experience for my 20-year-old daughter. From the moment I called to ask questions to the very end of her hang gliding session, every step was handled with courtesy and professionalism. We drove out there in the morning and Donnie met us at the hanger and he put her right at ease for her flight into the sky at 3500 feet. Jim the tug pilot was great as well, answering all of our questions. When she landed her smile told us all we needed to know. She had a blast and wants to do it again. Without hesitation, I would suggest you take the time to go for a flight with Donnie and Jim.

My boyfriend and I drove out 4 hours from D.C. for this experience and it was everything (more) than we hoped for. They confirmed our reservation by calling prior to our drive out, and promptly set us with instructions and safety gear upon our arrival. This was definitely a bucket list item for my boyfriend, whereas I was a bit more apprehensive for a slight fear of heights. Don, Dallas, and our pilot were so professional and communicative that I really felt instantly safe and at ease. I will never forget this experience and am so grateful to the Virginia Hang Gliding Team for making it so memorable and positive. Would give 10 stars if the limit wasn’t 5.

I booked the mile high flight. The weather was ideal. Glad I booked the higher altitude. The view was much nicer and the flight lasted longer. I enjoyed the acrobatic and gliding lessons. I had a great time and can't wait to do it again.

Fantastic experience! I'd never been to Virginia before and this was a great way to see the breathtaking views of Onancock and the Eastern Shore. The team was very professional and made me feel very safe and comfortable. I can't wait to do this again! I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for some adventure!!

I took my boyfriend hang gliding for his birthday this past weekend and he couldn't have been happier! They are extremely friendly, professional and make you feel at ease - both Bill (the tow pilot) and Don (the tandem pilot) have tons of experience, and all you have to do is have a good time. They are so honest, that they gave me a Groupon deal that I didn't even know about beforehand. I didn't go hang gliding myself, but my boyfriend could see both the ocean, and the bay - and obviously having a great view is part of what makes the experience so spectacular.
In fact, my boyfriend was so enamored and uplifted after the flight that we drove to Assateague island on our way back to DC to see the wild horses, and he proposed to me on the beach. You may not get engaged after hang gliding, but magical things can happen!

If you are on the Eastern shore or anywhere on Chincoteague Island, take the 20 minute drive south from Chincoteague and do this! It is a must for anyone looking to kick their vacation up a notch! The staff here is unbelievably accommodating, totally professional, and have a talent for settling anyone's nerves down so that you can relax and enjoy the freedom of gliding! My wife has refused to hike the Adirondaks because she is afraid of hights, after a few minutes with the staff here she was 3,200ft up and loving it! Coyote (our pilot) will custom fit your ride to your level of adventure. My recommendation; your already up there so do the rollercoster! They also offer a video of your entire experience for a very reasonable price (a must as you can capture tons of great still shots from it!). Can't say it enough, you MUST MUST MUST try this and do it with Virginia Hang Gliding!

I never thought I would dare ... but the team at hang glide virginia made me fell so confortable that I didn't hesitate! I came to Viginia from Chile and Must say that it is the most beautiful way to get to know the area while experiencing the thrill of flying like a bird. They also film the ride for you to be able to remember this incredible experience for ever !!! Definitely recomendable !!!

Well worth the trip from Virginia Beach. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. They made the experience very enjoyable. The views were spectacular. Able to see the Atlantic and Chesapeake at the same time. The countryside is beautiful. With a few tips I was able to fly/steer the glider for a few minutes. One of the best thrills I've had.

Met a friendly group who owns an equal level of professionalism and experience. Ive got a fantastic unexpected journey with the crew of Virginia hand gliding. Im in wheelchair, that wasn't a problem to get in the air, they take care to give you the best experience possible. You need to try it, a long, smooth and safe fly. Thanks from Quebec.
