We so enjoyed our tasting here. All of the wines were wonderful. The view is beautiful. The owner is knowledgeable and friendly. We felt right at home. A great place to go to really taste superior wine and learn from a passionate owner who takes pride in his craft.

There is an ambiance and a charm from this winery from the moment you navigate the entrance. Who doesn't love a French themed chateau with a stunning view (Rt. 66 hardly disturbs)? The owner welcomed us, and his staff really did a nice job in a crowded tasting room. There are actually two tasting rooms; we chose the less expensive... More

We were here last Friday. Howard was already very busy doing tastings with several people. Always welcome us in a big friendly way. We did a tasting and we lived all the wines. He has a great wine maker! The weather was beautiful, we enjoyed some white wine outdoor on the patio getting some sun and had our picnic inside.... More

We did both tastings at this vineyard. They (oddly) separate their red and white wines in 2 different tasting rooms. The white tasting is $8. The red is $15. Even though we were put off by paying for 2 tastings, that said they were the best wines we have had in Virginia. Every wine was well crafted and delicious. They... More

The owner is delightful and welcoming. The wines are made from 100% local grapes and you can taste the TLC.

We stopped at Chateau O'Brien on a whim while on a drive to pick apples. This is a very nice winery and the staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable. The wines and the view are beautiful! We thoroughly enjoyed the tasting and ordered a bottle to have with the croissants from the food menu. Everything was delicious, and although it... More

First trip here back in 2012 was so memorable, but when we went back again in 2014 a completely different story. The wines are great, but I believe Chateau O'Brien got to BIG for their own vineyard.

We were actually on our way somewhere else, saw the sign and had to stop. The winery was beautiful, great view, good wine (not all to my taste), friendly staff. Dee was our pourer and she was fun. Wish we could have stayed longer.
