We stopped at Chateau O'Brien on a whim while on a drive to pick apples. This is a very nice winery and the staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable. The wines and the view are beautiful! We thoroughly enjoyed the tasting and ordered a bottle...More

We stopped by this winery labor day weekend. Not sure if they had extended their hours for the holidays like some near by wineries we walked in to ask. After being told tastings were over but we were welcome to sit on the patio we...More

Let's start with first impressions. This place is gorgeous! From the landscape to the building, it's beautiful. Inside and out, I love the structure, the decor, and the whole feel of the place. It's odd to recommend that you go to the bathroom while you're...More

We were looking for a nice place in the Delaplane area to enjoy a private wine tasting on our 5th Anniversary and I found Chateau O'Brien while googling. The tasting was $35/person and included the wine tasting and meat and cheese board/pairings. For the price...More

Howard had an interesting business model - having customers pay to work bottling (in all its stages) his Tannat Rose. I did have fun, I did get a bottle to take home, and I do think it is going to be a killer wine: deep,...More

Red wine is not done particularly well in Virginia but Chateau O'Brien is the exception, particularly for their high end wines. I also love their Apple Wine (white).

I was hesitant to stop here after reading other reviews, but I am glad I did. They offer two different tastings, or you can do both. Of course I had to do both! It's quite a long tasting, but they pair most of the wines...More

The visit left a bad taste in our mouths - literally and figuratively. When you arrive there are signs telling you all the things you cant do, when you get inside the owner tells you all the things he can do or has done or...More

I often visit Virginia wineries with a group of friends, one of whom is a former owner. But we are usually unimpressed--many have gotten too commercial, too crowded, too overpriced for nondescript, low-quality wines... as was the case with the first that we visited in...More

This was a nice location and the wine was delicious, but a bit pricey. However, the wine tasting was chaotic and we were skipped over several times. The staff was pleasant, but just seemed a bit disorganized. The food was ok, but a very limited...More

We found the wines at Chateau O'Brien to be overpriced for the quality, and were disappointed that to do a tasting they charge separately for a white wine tasting and a red wine tasting. I don't think we will be back.
