On our return trip home, we had reservations at Hungry Mother State Park, site B16 for one night. Nice site by a creek (with hardly any water). Close to bathrooms and not so great showers. To get to our site, we had to go through some small roads...would not recommend to those who travel with 30+ travel trailers or RV's.

I fell in love with Hungry Mother State park the first time I went, I try to make it out there at least once a season. The park has something for everybody to enjoy; hiking, biking, camping, fishing, swimming, and boat rentals. They have trails for all different skill levels, my two favorites are Mollys Knob and The Lake Loop... More

Stayed in a cabin at the park with our toddler. So much to do for all ages. Park staff friendly and helpful. The nature center/welcome center has a lot to offer as well. We will definitely come back!

Kayaked on the lake for a few hours. Husband then went mountain biking on Hungry Mother trails. Great state park.

I go here often for hiking purposes and the trails are well designed for multiple levels of difficulties. There are also multiple options for a great view ! The lake is gorgeous and with the leaves changing its amazing !!! Having a beach to walk on at the lake is also just very neat given being in the middle of... More

An easy to find/access, beautiful state park. Has something for everyone in the family: hiking, swimming, fishing, canoeing. Park staff are friendly and helpful. PLENTY of parking. Wish the restaurant had longer hours...even opening at 3:00pm on a Saturday would be nice/helpful.

I brought my youngest grandson for his first visit to the Park and we had an absolute blast!! Rode the paddle boats Saturday and Sunday, hiked a couple trails, and just enjoyed God's beautiful nature at Hungry Mother State Park!

Although we did not spend the night at the park, rustic cabins are available for rent. A quiet, peaceful place to relax, meditate, fish, hike. There are playgrounds for young children. There is a restaurant at the Lodge, but it is not open every day. If you plan to eat there, call before you go. The Discovery Center at the... More

Hiking trails are so nice. We stayed in one of their cabins. Don't expect internet connections...You might get lucky and get one on occasion. Beautiful swimming beach area. Camping fees are high for a State Recreation Area.
