I understand stand that snowboarding is dangerous, and I signed the contract. But that doesn’t change the fact of how poor of a snowboarding center this is. While I was there I broke my arm... in HALF! After the fact I had many experienced snowboarders tell me how dangerous of a place snowflex really is, a long time family friend said, “ I’ve been snowboarding for years and I would never snowboard there.”. The combination of the incredibly steep incline and the “tooth brush bristle slope” (that is sturdy enough to snap ones arm in half) is just to risky for anyone to take their family or children too. But that’s just my two cents.

If you get hurt, they will not care about you. My daughter got her foot caught going down the Inter-tube and couldn’t walk, I had to rush her to urgent care. But no one even offered to help, or asked if she was okay even though she was very visually in pain. I brushed that off and just left as soon as we could, even though it’s not handicap accessible if that applies to you. It was very difficult getting her to the car. And when I emailed to ask for any type of refund, because we were there for barely 10 min and that was the first thing she did, they said they can’t help us. So not only they won’t help you when you’re hurt, they won’t assist at all. It was such a waste driving there because we don’t even live close. Would not recommend

We have attempted twice to visit this place. The website hours did not match the center. We visited in September and May both times closed. We loved to see what all the talk is about.

I can sum this into two words. Road Rash. This is the dumbest thing I have ever tried. You should not be able to ski in the summer.

Rarely a line and the kids love it. As for me I am too old to do this any more. But them kiddies enjoy it to the hill.

Not only is the view from the mountain beautiful but the ability to snowboard, ski or tube in the middle of the summer is pretty cool! The slopes are made of a velcro type material and it honestly feels very close to what snow feels like. Would recommend it to try!

This is a one-of-a-kind place. Regardless of the weather, you can snowboard, ski or (our personal favorite) snow tube down the slopes. There is even a bunny slope for little ones...our grandkids love this place. Check out the website for details. The desk is manned by Liberty University students and you will go a long way to find a more polite bunch of young folks.

I love coming to snow flex every now and then over the offseason! There is definitely a learning curve to skiing on synthetic snow. There are also more snowboarders than skiers there, and a great portion of the slope is covered in jumps and rails. Never the less, it is always a fun experience, and the rates are much cheaper than those at any normal ski resort. Even if you have been skiing for a while, I would recommend that you try the beginner slope to get a feel for the turf. It takes some getting used to!

The Liberty Mountain Snowlfex Centre at Liberty University in Lynchburg is a fun, exciting, and unusual outdoor adventure activity! If you love skiing or snowboarding, even snow tubing, any time of year, the Snowflex Centre is great in the off-season. There are only a few such centers in the U.S., but the technology is improving and they are growing in popularity in Europe, U.S., and elsewhere. The snowflex surface is synthetic, and when wet, it can simulate a surface for skiing and boarding. You use the same equipment, but no need to wear all the heavy clothes. Helmets and long sleeves and long pants are recommended. if you fall, you may scrape unprotected limbs, and of course, we all want to guard against head injury. Visit Youtube for examples of what it looks like in action.
Tjps for a better experience: It can be very hot during the day in the summer, and you need long pants and long sleeves, although you do not need a coat and snowpants. Try a cloudy day, or better yet, night-time skiing and boardng. Rental skis, boots, boards, etc. are available. The surface acts a little differently than snow, so do take advantage of at least a brief lesson to learn how to maneuver on this new, different, way-cool surface. If you fall, it is harder than falling on real snow...please be careful.
If you have access to real snow in-season, go for that. When snow is not available, this is a terrific alternative!

Our family brought us here to see the “mountain” and get some hiking in. It’s a neat area and it’s cool that liberty families get to use this facility for free with tuition. We are from northern MN so the thought of not skiing on real snow doesn’t appeal to us. Especially when we spend every winter in the Rockies. But if your a local I can see the appeal.
