We walked a large portion of the Riverwalk trail including the section near Amazement Square skatepark. Very cool area! Can't wait to go back when we have more time and rent bikes so we can traverse more of the trail next time.

Walked along and across the river, lost of people on the trail riding bikes and running/walking - not too crowded or too destitute.

Visited Riverwalk over the weekend during a music festival. Parked in a lot not marked in anyway as private or no parking. Got towed to the tune of $230 dollars. I inquired as to the lack of signage and was told "we do not have...More

Stroller, bike, feet, dogs, anything goes for great exercise and nature study, etc. Close to where most folks live. Watch popular times as parking can be a trick at access points.

We love walking on this trail. Much of it is shaded, you get to walk over the bridge and see a great view of the James and the downtown skyline, and you can get your picture taken in front of the LOVE sign in Lynchburg!

Safe, easy trails. You can go off trail to river if you want. Great for biking, walking, jogging. Cool things to see along the way. Love the “locks” display. Family and pet friendly.

It is up near Amazement Square and Depot Grille. There is also a skateboard park near there as well.

need help with timing on a visit to zion (4 Replies)
I’ll be going to Zion in September next year with a group that needs to take it easy and take an afternoon nap. That means that we probably would arrive to the pedestrian entrance of Zion no earlier than 4:30 P.M. Is it reasonable to think that we could take the shuttle down to the end and take a very leisurely stroll along Riverside walk, getting back to the shuttle pick up at the trail head before dark? (seems that sunset would be around 7:45). I figure we don't necessarily need to make it...More

A round trip on the shuttle(visitor center to end of canyon, back to visitor center) is about 90 minutes. And at that time of year, the busses run every 6-7 minutes. So you could get off at Court of the Patriarchs, which is about a 100 yard round trip walk,or any other stop for that matter, and catch the next bus. If the Riverside trail is your main interest, maybe go there first, since that would be the most walking.Do as much as you can while there is still good sunlight. Its about 2 miles round...More
