Great history lesson

Great museum of WW ll and Marshall history. Cool video at the beginning. Lots of facts you didn't learn in school. Worth a stop.

This is a must see attraction for everyone. Be sure to take the docent tour. The museum is not large, but the person leading the tours knows EVERYTHING about Marshall and what an amazing guy he was. Never afraid to speak truth to power and the person who built all of the partnerships to rebuild Europe after WWII. It is... More

I guess you have to be a wwII lover to enjoy it, it was nice, just the wrong part of history for me, they need to label some the items that were real

We drove from Stonewall Jackson's house to George C. Marshall Museum since they are so close. Would recommend doing both. The museum is located on the grounds of Virginia Military Institute so you do get to see the campus which is beautiful. Parking spaces are on the street outside of the museum. The museum starts with a 10 min. biographical... More

Informative video, attentive staff. You get to see why marshall won the Peace prize, and then see it up close. Also there was an Oscar on display. A very informative and interesting museum.

George Marshall is very underrated in the history of the US. He led the military during WW2 and then secured the peace through the Marshall Plan. He was a true leader and did not seek the glory that came with his positions. You can see his Nobel Peach Prize at the museum. On the grounds of VMI and convenient to... More

I won't lie. My husband wanted to visit this museum to learn more about the man. I had heard the name of George C. Marshall during my high school history class (eons ago) but remembered little. This was eye-opening for both of us. The museum is open from 11:00 am- 4 pm, Tuesday through Saturday. Take note: they are closed... More

An unexpected treasure. We stopped in Lexington and VMI primarliy because I'm a Civil War buff. As long as we were at VMI we took in the Marshall Museum, too. The breadth with which it portrayed Marshall's life was totally unexpected. As a historian I'm familiar with Marshall's role in WWII and the Cold War but the displays brought this... More
