We stopped by for a visit on a Thursday morning. The campus itself is beautiful. It's is impeccably maintained. You will see cadets walking around. The museum on the campus is fantastic. There is no charge to view the museum, but donations are welcome. There are tons of cool artifacts, especially if you are a military history buff. There is... More

This is not only an excellent example life at Virginia Military Academy life and education of young cadets, but historical dedication to one of it's greatest graduates, General George C. Marshall, General of the Army leading up to and during World War 2, but also to one of it's most distinguished instructors, Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson, Lieutenant General, CSA and Major,... More

We had a great campus tour by a cadet. Definitely worth a visit. The museum, accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, is well-done. Includes an amazing firearms collection as well as many personal effects of Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson.

The Friday parades are so impressive! You get a real sense of pride, dedication and respect as you watch the cadets drill and march. Many hours of discipline are required to train for and present this event. The cadets were wonderful at the Presidential Inauguration, and we appreciated the opportunity to see them close-up. Clearly these young men and women... More

We did the open house for prospective students. Fantastic program if you are considering attending the college. The Cadets were all helpful and well informed. The campus is impressive and full of history. An environment full of structure for the student. Growing future leaders and citizen soldiers.

Military history comes alive on this gorgeous campus. Stunning architecture, grounds are impeccable, cadets going about the businesses of preparing for their futures. Walking trails open to all.

My son wants to go to school at VMI so we visited for the Open House weekend. The staff seems very helpful. The cadets were all very respectful and full of useful information. The food in the mess wasn't bad. The library was amazing, and the Museum was very cool. It was disappointing that as a parent I couldn't see... More

It can be a quick stop, and unlike West Point - you can pretty much drive thru the campus. Lovely historic buildings - ample parking - lots of hills if you walk - and good walking paths

We really enjoyed our visit to VMI and our self-guided tour. The best part was the VMI Museum that was absolutely fascinating! So full of history, plus the very cool antique gun collection on the lower level (even if you are not a history buff) was so interesting. We liked this museum better than the George C. Marshall Museum across... More

We come for the VMI vs The Citadel game every year. Always fun! Very historical campus. So many things to learn and buildings to explore.
