Beautiful Family-Owned and Operated Winery

We've been here twice. The wines are quite good for VA, some even excellent, with condensed flavors in both reds & whites. Tastings are with members of this family, and include stories of their ancestors settled here (I believe) just after the civil war. The house is in pretty much original condition, with old books etc. lining the walls. It's... More

This winery is a place that should be visited by those into local wines! It's in a beautiful house built in the 1700's and still owned by the same family. They had 300 acres with about 10 under vine and use primarily their own grapes to make their wines. They offer tours of the grounds and have a unique way... More

Just a few years ago before the Loudoun Wine boom wineries would actually talk to you about the wine, how they made it, why they got into wine and this was with the owner/ wine maker. Now a days it is drink this next and read the card in front of you by some teenager who probably cant drink. This... More

The best thing about Loudoun Wineries is that you can usually meet the owners or the wine maker. Zephaniah is one of our favorites. Bill and Bonnie are a delight and really take an interest in explaining their wines and learning about you. They (literally) open their home for you to taste their wines. The 1800 mansion is filled with... More

No tasting notes; owner prefers to let you make your own assessments. Owners want to chat with you and answer any questions. Wine is good, moderately priced, unfiltered, and unfined. Winery is a challenge to find: look for very small signs in the grass.

It was so nice to go into a winery a be treated like family. We were invited to take a seat in our choice of rooms. We chose the library. They brought each wine individually for tasting. We chatted like new friends. The wines were good as well. We liked the Three Captains and Adeline.

This winery is kind of out of the way compared to the more popular wineries in the leesburg area. However, the property itself is gorgeous and they family who owns it are such amazing people. They welcomed us with open arms and encouraged us to get comfortable. Tastings are 10.00 a person and very much worth it. I would recommend... More

Tasting wine at Zaphaniah is a personal and enjoyable affair. The tasting room is actually in the owner's home and is held in one of four different rooms. Bonnie and Bill are very personable and knowledgable about their wines and will even tell you about the three generations leading back to Zephaniah himself. The wine is delicious and made with... We took my in laws here over the weekend and found the best little vineyard! Zephaniah is a family owned (3 generations) and operated beautiful little farm out off route 9 in Loudoun County. The owner was so generous and gave us a personal tour of the vineyard (you can taste the grapes off the vine), the new construction and... More

A small family run vineyard that welcomes you the minute you walk in the door. We've recently lived in Sonoma Valley California so we wanted to see how the local wines compare. We enjoyed our tasting enough to leave with a couple of bottles in hand. We will be back for more. We truly enjoyed chatting with the owner about... More
