My wife and children bought me this relatively expensive experience for my 70th birthday as it was something I had always wanted to do. I eagerly anticipated the event only to arrive in September 2017 and find the accommodation totally unsuitable for stay of 3 days for people of our ages, with a group of bunks allowing no privacy for those on the boat. Bitterly dis-appointed we had to leave the boat. The actual site that the booking was made from did not I believe make enough reference to the fact that there was so little thought to the accommodation. There appears to be no refunds available, certainly I have not received one, although I believe my family requested that. Fortunately I received a gift from another family member for a RYA Course at my next birthday which was excellent and reinforced by desire to use the canals. I have to say that I felt the whole experience from the Wandering Duck was a complete let down which cost us a lot of time and money, a complete waste.

As a nervous senior solo traveller thoroughly enjoyed my two nights on Rakiraki and loved every minute. Lee and Roberta were great hosts and the mini break provided lovely scenery, food and company. Hope to travel with the Wandering Duck next year.

One of the most delightful ways to ever spend three days ! Very relaxed, intrusiveness but friendly hosts, Lee and Roberta encourage guests to be as involved - or not - as they want- in working the boat and locks or simply relaxing. Perfect balance of on board and off things to do - exploring countryside around where the Duck moors from stately national trust buildings for delicious afternoon teas to forest walks to local friendly country pubs with delicious food. Just prefect !

Spent 2 nights with Roberta and Lee on the Wandering Duck. It happened to be one the first canal tours of the season and it did not disappoint. From the first moment we stepped on the Wandering Duck in Congleton to the time we stepped off in Marple, the hospitality never ended. The food, the sights and some hard work manning the locks made for a experience we will forget. I never thought I could navigate a 69ft boat through a narrow canal but with Lee's patience and guidance, he made it easy & had fun doing it. Along the way we were able to moor the boat for some explore time. We were given directions to places like White Nancy & Lyme Park (which were very helpful). Both beautiful fairy tale places but getting there just enhanced the experience. The trails, the countryside, local fair & the scenic surroundings were breathtaking. I could go on and on about Wandering Duck Tours but you have to live it to believe it.....

3 nights with Wandering Duck and the crew of Rakiraki (Lee and Roberta) was a highlight of our 8 week tour of the UK. Such a unique experience, relaxing, refreshing and yet at the same time learning new stuff from new experiences and great people. They made us feel at home on board. Work the locks if you want to but allow life to greet you at a more relaxed pace.SOoo Good :-)
