Family visiting Lake Gaston had an afternoon open and decided to visit Rosemont Winery. Five of us stopped in and each had flight of wines which included a sweet, a white, two red and a member's flight. Service was excellent, wines were served with recommended order and pairings of the wines. Especially liked the Virginia White and the Syrah 2019, ordered a bottle of each and enjoyed the beauty of the winey.

Rosemont is not a newbie or “low end” winery. Their “reception” area however, speaks less to their wine than to things to buy, which makes one wonder ( unless a shopper who isn’t really there to taste good wine). The staff checking people in were all smiles, but once seated, back away from things, it took too long for the server to give attention while others around were being served. Not a good start. Knowing what I wanted (flight) it should not have taken long. As bottles and flights were going to other tables, I sat and waited. Man, this best be some good juice! During the first flight tasting, server took my glasses without asking me, one of which still had wine in it! She was not attentive to me and altered my excitement to be at Rosemont! Seeking information on my own lead to learning Rosemontgrows all their own grapes for their wines. There was one that really had my attention, and did take it home.
