Stopped by here on a whim. Very friendly staff & for a small museum, it had a lot on exhibit. We were interested in the history of the Norris Bridge, since we had just crossed it earlier in the day.

A nice smaller collection of historic items relating to the town but most of it is newspaper clippings and some small cases of artifacts. For the area it's a bit small. Enthusiastic docent but I usually look at displays quietly.

The museum was very interesting with local history. It displayed plenty of interesting pictures and artifacts of the area. It was especially interesting to us because my husband's family was involved in the menhaden fishing industry in that area years ago.

It's open on Thursday, Friday, & Saturday 11:00AM - 4:00PM from mid March thru mid December. Other days by appointment. There's also an antique shop and various other shops. Don't know their hours. Probably can find out... More
