We enjoyed a few hours trying out wines and sitting on the deck enjoying a bottle and having lunch from the food truck.

Helloo-o. Can you pay attention to us? We stopped in for a tasting, thinking we'd stay for a glass afterwards, maybe buy a few bottles. Some of the wines were good, the setting was fine, but with so many other vineyards in the area that offer good wines in a beautiful setting, we didn't bother to stay beyond the tasting... More

On our way to a wedding just down the road, we stopped into Rappahannock Cellars for a quick taste to see if we wanted some bottles for dinner the next evening. The staff greeted us warmly, understood our slight urgency and ably walked us through some good options. Noblesse Rouge for strong meats; a bright Chardonnay/Viognier; a Rose; and a... More

We are members of their wine club. We always have a great time. We really enjoy their whites - especially their chardonnay (get the Black Label if you can). Their reds can really surprise as well. In good years the Meritage is outstanding - we just tasted the 2014 and it is a very good showing. Also try their cab... More

First Virginia Wine country is one of my favorite places. We can jump in our car in DC and feel like we've gotten away from it all. As soon as we see those mountains on the horizon, it's like Calgon. Having visited too many wineries to county, Rappahannock Cellars is the only one where we actually signed up for the... More

This was our 4th visit to Rappahannock and have always had a great time. I chose this winery to go with friends who had never been. As an FYI they don't have a lot of parking compared to other wineries. On the plus side there was no wait to do a tasting and the staff was very pleasant. Also there... More

Gave this winery a 4 star review in September. Have since visited several times, and joined their wine club. Have increased the level to 5 stars. One of the Club perks is a very large seating area reserved for members, where you can enjoy complimentary sit down tastings. The Club requires that you purchase 14 bottles per year (2 each... More

I have been here twice, with the visits separated by a few years- but my experiences were similar: Pleasant service, tasty wine, in a nice but simple setting. Unlike several wineries in the area, the view is not from the top or the side of the mountain, but looking up from the valley floor. The vineyards surround the tasting area,... More

The wine at Rappahannock Cellars just doesn't compare to other wineries in the local area. We have been to many of the nearby wineries, and when we found our way here, just looked at each other and said this wine is just all around superior to others we've visited. We are now wine club members, and have been enjoying the... More
