Perfect for families.

This is a small local ski spot . It is perfect for beginners and moderate skiers. They also have a snow tubing hill that is great for kids.

Great if staying at the resort or if a beginner skier wanting to learn. Nice staff, decent rental equipment. Not crowded and short lift lines. Most difficult terrain is really just a single blue at max and that terrain is short lived until turns back to green.

The Homestead offers night skiing on the weekends which is so much fun! The mountain is beautiful at night with the snow glistening in the lights. It was not very crowded; you can ski down and get right back on the lift with no waiting. We also enjoyed a cocktail in the ski area bar. What a wonderful way to... More

We are all snowboarders and this place is perfect for young children. The restaurant is clean and inviting. The bar patio is wonderful.

We have been here a few times to teach our daughter's how to ski and felt it was a great environment for beginners. It is very limited on the runs it offers which keeps the masses away. The chair lift is pretty slow which is great for new skiers. The on chair lift allows you to get off part way... More

It's a small mountain with effectively one trail done. We went for lessons - trying to learn on same trail as a bunch of skiers and snowboarded from expert to novice are using is a recipe for disaster. Quality of lesson was poor and just happy to get out of there without an injury.

The actual ski area is really just one run with a few offshoots. A perfect hill for a first time skier but a intermediate or advanced skier will tire of the run within a day(or less). The ski run is access by a very slow two chair that can get crowded on weekends or holidays(as I discovered). The staff is... More

Basically, there's one slope, with one double lift that will drop skiers off halfway up if they don't want to ski the steeper section of the hill. I took my five-year old and 14-year old, and both had fun. We were there Presidents' Day weekend, and the snow was very good. Crowds were manageable. The slope is actually fairly long... More

I'm use to skiing in Colorado. This is Virginia skiing. It's great for my novice kiddos. They've gained so much confidence skiing on these gentle forgiving slopes. They even talked about how the lift operators knew their names. This is not for big skiers, but it's perfect for some fun. Great staff - can't say enough about them

I skied here just after the birth of my daughter the slopes were easy for me to get back in shape and fun to make a run, nurse make another run! Snow was great for Virginia!
