Great views along the river, surface was very well maintained, guide rails and fencing are all in place and look very nice. River is peaceful, trail wasn't very busy when we were there in October.

During our recent stay at the Homestead, we booked a family kayak trip through the resort. We have kayaked as a family all over the world, most recently in Alaska & Costa Rica, so I was confident that in tandem kayaks we would be fine...More

As an avid kayaker I like to hit up as many rivers as I can when I travel. Jackson River is in the top of my list for favorites. Wish I was able to spend more time on this beautiful river.

This is an easy way for anyone to get out and enjoy the scenery and the river. It's really more of a dirt road along the river. The signs at the entrance are not very helpful in terms of navigation. I think we missed out...More

River was beautiful, especially Blowing Springs. Water level were low due to drought, so we didn't catch anything, but still really enjoyed it.

Can't believe I didn't read more about this trail on the internet. This is a fantastic trail, it's flat and goes along the river's path. The trail is long (we hiked for an hour) and didn't get anywhere near the end. Lots of benches and...More

Have now been fishing on the Jackson River three times and can't imagine a better place for fly fishing in Virginia. Good numbers of brown and rainbow trout in the upper Jackson make for a great day though size limits make it hard to take...More

Land along the shoreline is private so do not expect to exit your boat. Very Rocky and shallow stream.

The Jackson river and surrounding area is one of the places that has not changed very much over the past 50 years. The waters are unpoluted clear and full of trout. Wildlife is abundant, deer, eagles, bear, . Hiking and biking trail runs adjacent to...More

The Jackson River area is a wonderful place to go with family and/or friends. There are multiple hiking and biking trails, great fishing and kayaking opportunities.
