Hidden Valley is a lovely stroll on easy path

This is an easy way for anyone to get out and enjoy the scenery and the river. It's really more of a dirt road along the river. The signs at the entrance are not very helpful in terms of navigation. I think we missed out on a lot of good hiking just because we didn't have a map and there... More

River was beautiful, especially Blowing Springs. Water level were low due to drought, so we didn't catch anything, but still really enjoyed it.

Can't believe I didn't read more about this trail on the internet. This is a fantastic trail, it's flat and goes along the river's path. The trail is long (we hiked for an hour) and didn't get anywhere near the end. Lots of benches and picnic tables to stop and rest if you wanted to. Or bring your lunch and... More

Have now been fishing on the Jackson River three times and can't imagine a better place for fly fishing in Virginia. Good numbers of brown and rainbow trout in the upper Jackson make for a great day though size limits make it hard to take anything home. Catch and release is alive and well keeping catch numbers high and larger... More

Land along the shoreline is private so do not expect to exit your boat. Very Rocky and shallow stream.

The Jackson river and surrounding area is one of the places that has not changed very much over the past 50 years. The waters are unpoluted clear and full of trout. Wildlife is abundant, deer, eagles, bear, . Hiking and biking trail runs adjacent to the river. Enjoy the little piece of heaven with vistas that are breathtaking.

The Jackson River area is a wonderful place to go with family and/or friends. There are multiple hiking and biking trails, great fishing and kayaking opportunities.

Nice day for kayaking. Nice guides. Wish we would have kayaked for the 2 - 2 1/2 hours we were told we would spend on the water. Double kayak have good back support seats.

The river and the surrounding area are very peaceful, and beautiful. This area is very typical of what the Old Dominion used to be. Sit back, relax, and let everyone take care of you.

The Jackson River runs through 4 of our family's backyards. We have enjoyed fishing, tubing, canoeing and picnics by the river. She is a small wonder to be nurtured and cared for to keep the ecosystem in balance. The Covington Paper Mill is further down river so it is essential to take good care of her.
