Historic course tied to Sam Snead and the Homestead. Very scenic. Very difficult greens - fast with lots of break, but rolls true. Will expose any flaws in your game. Excellent condition. Good pace. However, Play soon because showing signs of slow decline. Starter didn't describe course or give advice - Just tee off when ready. Golf cart has a... More

This is one of the best courses you will ever play. It is not only a great mountain course but a truly great golf golfing experience. I have played all over the world and it doesn't get any better than this. No gimmicks or tricked up holes, just a fantastic example of taking the natural terrain and making the most... More

The Cascades is both a scenic beauty and a great historic and challenging golf course. Nice old clubhouse and restaurant. Driving range is about 3 minutes drive away and a little rustic. Very hilly course. It plays longer than its yardage especially when it is wet from rain. Nearly every hole has its own special character and different challenge.

Spent 2.5 hrs Thanksgiving Day hiking this trail on the Homestead property. Bridges traverse across falls as you hike out of the canyon up to the top and over the Cascades golf course. Summer, winter, spring, fall all bring different folage, sites and scents and wild flowers not to mention critters.

Having taken my first fly fishing lesson at the Homestead, I was eager to augment my understanding of and skills in fly fishing. The Cascades stream with my guide Matt fulfilled my needs. Matt coached me in casting tactics, fly selection and reading the stream making my time on the stream most productive and enjoyable. The highlight of my day... More

Had friends from Columbus, OH come in for the game. Played the Cascades on Sunday. Had a great time. Service at the bag drop, checking in, shuttle to range, beverages after golf, and friendly service in pro shop were all great. Golf course was in great condition. Fairways and greens superb. One of my favorite courses. Purchase by Omni was... More

Played both courses. Except for #10, it is flatter than The Old Course. I feel both are more about a rich history than really well maintained golf courses. The practice range is worse than any public course you will play. Chewed to pieces. It is also a distance from the course (back towards the hotel). Either stop there before going... More

This golf course is highly rated by Golf Digest and others. I guess that would be the case if you looked up at the view, but never down at the course. Course maintenance is very lax. The staff could care less if you are there. The greens are ridiculously slow and grainy. The back nine has a good design, but... More

Very disappointed in this trip. I had been many times before it became an Omni property. It has certainly lost its "class". Relaxed dress code makes one wonder if you are in a local blue collar bar. So sad to see this happen. Service is non existent and many maintenance issues are left unattended.

Played late June on Friday afternoon. It was like we had the whole course to ourselves. Course was lush. Poanna (sp?) greens were slow but smooth. In the valley looking up at surrounding mountains is very pretty. Golf course gets A rating but condition and service at the pro shop restaurant was C-. Bar tender couldn't speak English and the...
