Saturday fall golf. Golf course in great condition. Gorgeous day. Cheerful, friendly service from starter, bag staff, and pro shop. The Cascades is a must stop for golf in Southwest Virginia. Course closes for winter in early November.

Day two of our trip after playing the old course yesterday we heard this one was harder. I would say that is accurate. Course was in amazing condition. Fairways and greens were amazing. Really enjoyed my first trip out here and already planing my next trip.

Difficult Mountain Course. Have to hit the fairways or rough will eat you up. When it rains and afterwards small bugs will bother you, don't go. I just ignore them. Expensive $200.00 Round. Beautiful 17th and 18th, great holes to end a round. The course is hilly in the beginning and gets flatter near the end.

I have been very lucky in that I've played 40 of the top 100 golf courses you can play as ranked by Golf Magazine. This made number 41. I say this, not to brag, but to establish the criteria for my rating. It was clearly one of the top 10 conditioned courses that I have played and that includes a... More

Golf was great, course is beautiful and varied, BUT - the bugs were horrendous and the bug spray we had with us was no deterrent. They did rather ruin the experience, sadly. We had a caddy and he was great and very helpful.

I played here first time and loved it. Very well maintained. Hilly. Very scenic. I'm a mid-capper and found it challenging, but fair. Nice greens. Staff is very helpful. Not cheap, but worth it for the quality of play. Highly recommended.

Cascades is a beautiful course, with many fabulous mountain views. There are no houses on this course. Be prepared to hit a lot of hillside lies. It was in really good condition when we played it. However, the gnats were unbearable. Bring a very good bug spray. The one I keep in my golf bag did not help. A groundskeeper... More

I enjoyed this course. The greens were challenging & fair. Classic mountain course that test your driving accuracy. Negatives no starter & lack of a practice facility on the course location.

Whenever I need a break from the rest of my world, The Cascades Golf Course is the place I love to travel. It provides just the right amount of challenge, enjoyment and complete satisfaction. While this course is above average challenging. I love the opportunity to be in the mountains of western Virginia on one of my favorite golf courses... More

I try to play the Cascades Course every year and it's still my favorite. The setting is outstanding and holes 12 through 18 might be some of the prettiest in the eastern US. The last several times I have played, the rough has been deep and the greens fast. I played the white tees for the first time and the... More
