Been to Doukenie a couple times, but will likely not return. Their wines just are not very good. If you are not really going for the wine or are not much into wine and don't care, then it's a fine visit. But there are many wineries with much better wine in Loudoun County.

Like many wineries around here, Doukenie features live acoustic music on weekend afternoons. I heard the Hummingbyrds, a pleasant folk duo from Maryland. I tried two different wines, a house cabernet blend and a syrah, both oaky, dry, and fragrant. The setting is gorgeous, overlooking a large farm pond with ducks, literally in the shadow of the Blue Ridge, which... More

The winery was a very sweet place to visit. We met the matriarch, Hope. The wines were nice. I would return.

This was the third winery we visited throughout the day, after a short hike in the woods. What an absolutely amazing experience! Chris, our wine educator was amazing! He made the experience one to remember. He was extremely friendly and so knowledgable! We are now part of the wine club and we definitely be returning. Ps try the baklava, it's... More

My husband and I ended up here after traveling via bike from DC through Harper's Ferry and then Loudoun. This was a great place to take a little rest. Large tasting room and land to picnic on and fantastic staff.

We brought 2 couples to Loudoun County to visit our favorite vineyard. This was a trip to celebrate a 50th Birthday. Bonus for us that on Friday night it was Bistro Night with the Wondering Peacocks and NY Style Pizza vendor for eats. It was a beautiful night at one of our favorite wineries.

There are tons of wineries in Virginia, but you get much more on Doukenie's Taste of Science tour. Leanne knows her stuff. Winemaking, barrel making, viniculture, geology...we got a little bit of everything. We got out to the vineyard to learn how they grow the grapes and to see how the surrounding geology affects them. Really interesting, and Leanne was... More

The wines were okay, the dessert wine wast favorite by far. Not too sweet just the right amount. The view was gorgeous but the staff was very hard to engage in conversation especially because we were the only ones there.

Pros: -Enjoyed the wines today, surprised by the Mandolin white since not a white wine drinker, and the Cab Franc superb -Easy drive from Tysons Corner makes for good weekend day trip -Family run for 3 generations demonstrates longevity and competence -To join club seemed reasonable "price-wise" compared to other vineyards in area -Other reviewers have mentioned the yummy fresh... My husband and I enjoyed a great "Science of Wine" tour yesterday with LeAnne. It was lots of great information and such an interesting and engaging tour! I highly recommend it, if you get a chance!
