Went hear in between basketball games at the Boo Williams tournament. It was 10 Minutes away, free and fairly clean with pretty sufficient parking. The beach was not too crowded either. The surf is calm due to being in the bay. Mostly families here and...More

Close by & much more low key than Virginia Beach. In Hampton VA. Very pretty park like waterfront with great hardscaping. Lengthy boardwalk that we've never walked the length of it. Very pleasant. Nice place for outdoor concerts. That being said, there is a great...More

Been going for over 30 years. Beach no shops, attractions, no crowds. Just beautiful beaches. Can see Navy ships and cargo ships. No tunnel traffic. No parking fees. 70 miles from Richmond. Great lifeguards during season.

Went in April when it wasn't crowded. The beach was clean. There was a playground, grass areas and a walkway. Plenty of parking, but I have a feeling come summer it may be packed.

Nice beach/park on the bay. It was chilly and pretty deserted when we were there, but looks like it would be a nice place to take family in the summer.

They are a few miles apart, so by car would take about 5-6 minutes. There are smaller beaches right at Fort Monroe as well. Fort Monroe is also great to walk around or even go fishing.
