Very picturesque park with two beautiful lakes. Godwin Lake and Prince Edward Lake. Very nice cabins are available to rent. Fishing, biking, hiking trails, boating and boat launch are all available. Showers and bath houses as well as picnic shelters. Fee for swimming at the beaches. Camping area as well but not a lot of privacy. Fishing pier and gift shop round out the services available. They have a conference center right on one of the lakes. Trails are moderate to easy and some are open for equestrian use.

Beautiful 3 bedroom cabin near the lake with a gas fire place. It was so nice to just turn on the fireplace during our chilly stay. The cabin was clean and comfortable. It had everything you need. There were even puzzles and games provided. There was an demand hot water heater. I'm not sure I am sold on this. We had a hard time regulating the temperature. Either too hot or too cold. Great trail around the lakes. No TV or reception for a TV if you bring one.

My daughter, son-in-law, two grandbabies and I spent a week in Cabin 11 (lakefront with a screened porch) in mid-August. The cabin and park facilities were extremely clean and well kept. No cell service or wifi reception in the cabin was a welcome break for all involved--including my 3-year old granddaughter, who was content with reading along with her favorite books and playing Hi-Ho Cherry-O all week long. We spent a lot of time at the "beach" at the adjoining lake and fishing in front of our cabin. We also made two trips to High Bridge, which offered fabulous views and the perfect place for a 3-year old to ride her scooter. During these socially-distant crazy times, I could not imagine a get away that felt safer or more relaxing. We'll definitely be back.

Beautiful, Clean, Quiet and lots to do during the days!! The campground was spotless. The staff was friendly and the views are amazing!!! The Park is Perfect!! Farmville Va is only about 15 minutes away and is a wonderful town with everything you need or want from Restaurants, to shopping, to activities. It’s a College town, Longwood University, which is beautiful in its self. A unique mixture of old and modern.

Drove 2 1/2 hours to this state park to have a day with my family. A lot of little twists and turns to get there and unless you actually heard or knew about this place, you’d never know it existed.. which I what I like .. it’s tucked away in the country. First time visiting. 5$ entry fee for parking. The grounds are kept really nice. The swim area is nice and large with tons of picnic tables and shady areas. This day in particular, was semi sunny and so humid!!! There was no extra fee for swimming as there was no life guard on duty so that was nice. A lot of places to set up and fish. There is also a trail around the lake to walk. Dress appropriately and watch for ticks! They offer canoe and paddle board rentals. There is also a snack bar. My brother has 3 kids ranging 1-8 all 3 of them had a blast. There is something for everyone for a relaxing day. There were porta potties around the swim area, however, there were actual bathrooms a short walk over to the playground area. (Thank goodness) Bathrooms were very clean! I will definitely come back and visit here.
