I always enjoy going to Tom Leonard's for my fruits and vegetables (cantaloupe, broccoli, apples) I also buy shrimp and sometimes popcorn. Normally the cashiers are somewhat friendly but on this particular evening it seemed like everyone was in a bad mood. I didn't receive a greeting at check out or have a nice evening or thanks for shopping here. Tom Leonard is great for fruits and vegetables but lacking in customer service and that's the only reason I'm not giving 5 stars

When I need to restock on my fresh vegetable or maybe I am just craving some popcorn, Tom Leonard's is my go to place. I get to support a local business and local growers.

Popcorn is popped on site. It was great. On this trip I got $5.99 a pound shrimp, squash, cabbage, squash, onions, sweet potatoes, onions, cherry tomatoes and strawberries.

I like their boneless skinless chicken breast, especially when they are $1.49 a pound.

They normally have 18 count eggs 2/$4.

Not impressed with their steaks.

Visiting in the area, we came across this awesome indoor farmers market, and we are so glad we did! Not only did have the seasons freshest and latest produce, they also had a nice selection of fresh seafood, meats and deli meats.. From white sweet corn, blueberries and cherries to potatoes and vegetables. They were also popping fresh kettle corn which smelled so good. We enjoyed a free sample and it was tasty. The prices were extremely reasonable and the place was clean both inside and out.

One of the few times I have been there and will never go back.
The seafood department had a sign for jumbo lump crab $24.95 so the person behind the counter took a can and shoved it into a bag. I didn’t want to appear rude so I did not ask to see it. When we got home it was marked lump but was not what I would Even consider regular or claw meat. It was hardly edible and the charge was for jumbo lump!

Every time we go we say never again. I think they must train employees to be unfriendly, the check out people don't so much as even look at you. Also, the criteria for working behind the seafood counter must be "Old and grumpy" I'm irritated with the lack of customer service every time I leave. Produce is okay.

I went to Tom Leonard’s for a specific item. When I walked up to the door I saw this great rock carving stating that the customer is always right and when the customer is wrong, the customer is always right! Wow, this made me even more excited to enter. I LOVE great customer service. Upon entering you will see so
Many great options for fresh produce and meats and cheeses. We were 2 of 5 customers in the store. Not busy at all. The store was clean.. and then it happened. I walked three steps in the door, ran into the first employee, I said “Hi!” and I was ignored. The second employee, same thing....”Hello!”, I said...ignored. I walked past the soups, another employee ...”Hi!”, again, ignored. Now, you might think that maybe they didn’t see us, nope, they looked at us and turned their backs or walked away from us. Finally as we walked to the counter to pay for our wine, the two young ladies who rang us up said “hi!”. They were both friendly and probably saved the day. I honestly can’t say that I would have EVER gone back if I had not encountered these two.

It really is such a shame to have such a great store and such rude employees.

Could easily be a 4 rating, shrimp was a good price and good quality. Loads of samples. Overpriced on too many items.

We don't live close to Tom Leonard's, but whenever we are in the vicinity we stop by for the excellent produce and meat. It is a great grocery store -- no dry goods, just food . The cheese and bread are nice, and there is always a line at the deli counter. If we lived nearby this would be our primary grocery.

Have to admit that it is a little funny seeing this in the list of attractions of Glen Allen.. it is a grocery/farmer's market after all. But if you are looking for a grocery with a farmer's market atmosphere then this the place for you. You will find fresh fruits and veggies in season, good prices on quality beef and seafood. You might even smell the bread being baked there. While this is not a one stop grocery stop, this is somewhere to get fruits and veggies, breads, and some delicious salad dressings too.

This should be your "go to" store for food and drink. Their prices are competitive; quality is excellent. Their produce is wonderfully displayed. No long lines, generally, at checkout. A pleasure to shop there.
