Floyd is located on Virginia's historic Crooked Road which crosses much of Southwestern Virginia. It is famous for it's musicians and venues. Floyd Country Store is one of the main ones. Also, musicians are all over town, a town which has created space for people to play outdoors and for spectators to watch. The store has food and ice cream... More

The Floyd Country Store is just a fun place to go for souvenirs and a very good lunch! The food tastes like your grandmother cooked just for you and their desserts are home good decadence. On weekends they have home grown musicians playing great music and a dance floor for impromptu flat footing or just moving to the music. My... More

We stopped in to the Floyd Country Store while traveling through town. It's more of a restaurant than store. Since we weren't there for a meal, we just browsed. They have a few interesting things but I think the real draw for this location is the entertainment on Friday nights and the food (which did look good).

Friends took us out of towers to Floyd's on a Monday unfortunately we missed the Friday night stay and weren't able to see Floyd's in all its glory. Apparently, Floyd's is the banjo playing capitol of Va. Friends say they come from all over and flood the town and the general store on Friday nights. We got a different version... More

We had read about the Floyd Country Store and wanted to make sure we experienced it. Boy were we glad we did! We had lunch there on a Saturday afternoon when they had free country/blue grass performers playing between noon and 2 p.m. The entertainment was great and the food was superbly homemade. My wife had a great homemade lemon... More

If you are in the area the DO NOT MISS Friday night's at Floyds Ciuntry Store (or throughout the town for that matter). It feels so authentic, full of locals enjoying themselves the way they have for decades with home spun music, local dancing (more men than women?) and good feelings. We ate the 6.99 bbq platter polished off with... More

I attended an afternoon Jamboree musical performance there in Floyd Store, Virginia. Tickets were available at the door and the wonderful band were seasoned dance players. It was such an irresistible experience. I'd very much like to go back again if opportunity arises.

We timed our drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway to be in Floyd for the Friday night jamboree and it was well worth it. Fantastic live music inside and outside the store, a great buzz in the crowd of locals, regulars and visitors. A fantastic range of goods if you feel like shopping, and a delicious array of sweet and... More

Just pop in, browse round the numerous gifts and food counters and maybe have a drink and a bite to eat. And if you cop lucky there may even be some music playing. Worth a visit.
