Chateau Morrisette Winery and Restaurant is known for its quality Virginia wines, its scenic location along the Blue Ridge Parkway, its Black Dog Music Festivals and other special events, as well as its top-notch fine dining restaurant. The winery is open 7-days a week and offers wine tastings for $8 per person (for $2 more you may keep the souvenir glass). The tasting includes a tour of our winery. Hours vary by day of the week. The Chateau Restaurant is open Wed-Thu 11-2, Fri - Sat 11-9, and Sun 11-4. Open for lunch everyday in October. Guests may purchase wine by the bottle or glass and spend time relaxing in our courtyard, in a private gazebo, or from our terrace overlooking the scenic New River Valley. Live entertainment is offered every Sunday afternoons, June through October and we invite guests to check our website for the many special events we produce throughout the year, including the Black Dog Music Festivals.

Nice experience, friendly people, but below average wine. All of the wine was somewhat sweet, but inexpensive.

Thank you for the review and I'm glad you enjoyed your visit. Our tasting menu changes twice a week and often there are a number of very dry wines available to taste. For example, our Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Chardonnay Reserve have less than 0.1% residual sugar. If the tasting menu is not to your liking on the day... More

Was here for a wedding. The staff was dismissive and outright surly at times. The wine is passable and the food was decent. On the bright side, the grounds are beautiful and the views are spectacular.

We went on the tour that was very good. It is a very large winery with a timber framed building that was beautiful. They bottle a lot of wine there but only 5% of the grapes were local. There was no vines on the property. We ate at the restaurant which very good. They serve a 8 oz cheeseburger that... More

Thanks for your visit and review. We do have 15 acres of vineyard on the property, but they are not visible from the winery or restaurant. Increasing demand for our wines over the past three decades has meant that the grapes we grow compose less of the wine we ferment, cellar, and bottle, but we still source as locally as... More

We have been coming up to the Chateau for a number of years now and we always get a little nervous when they change chefs. We shouldn't have worried, the food is even better than before and a bit more varied. We had dinner that included the heirloom tomato salad with balsamic vinegar, shrimp and grits, heritage pork loin and... More

This evening my husband and I shared a delicious meal with great service. The men enjoyed a perfectly cooked filet mignon and the women had seared sea scallops with crab. That later entree was superb with a cauliflower risotto and tomato confit. The small plates we shared as hors d'oevres, fried osyters and a special citrus salmon medley, was superb... More

As a winery I find their wines continuing to improve and the restaurant excellent for lunch or dinner. Sitting on the patio the views are outstanding. Had done the tour before and it is very worthwhile.

Thanks for the kind words. Chateau Morrisette has been hand-crafting wine since 1978. We are one of the oldest and largest Virginia wineries. The tours take place at scheduled times throughout the day and the winery is open 7-days a week. The restaurant has seasonal hours. I hope you come back to see us again soon. More

Nestled away in the lush western Virginia countryside is Chateau Morisette Vinery. We discovered their wine about ten years ago and finally got to see the source. The friendly welcoming staff greets you and treats everyone as valued guests. A large variety of wines are offered to sample and purchase. You can take a detailed tour of the facility as... More

Super location just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Incredible views. Wine tasting was a bit pricey for what you get but an opportunity to try some good wines. Tour was free and worthwhile. Good restaurant on site but the wines there were surprisingly expensive compared to the retail prices in the winery next door

Thanks for visiting us and for your review. Our standard wine tastings are $10 for ten half-ounce pours, equal to a glass of wine, or $2 less without the souvenir glass. We are pleased to offer an array of wines to suit a range of palates and budgets. A large factor in our wine pricing (as for any winery) is... More

Service was wonderful. Food was really good. Waiter let us taste the wine before we ordered a glass to decide if we liked it first. The dessert was good but WAY over priced. First time eating here and would again. Wouldn't get dessert next time unless the price comes down.

Thank you for your review and I'm glad you enjoyed your experience. All of our desserts are currently priced at $8 each. The dessert menu changes seasonally along with the main lunch and dinner menus. I will certainly share your comments with Chef and perhaps he can address it going forward. Again, thanks for the feedback. We appreciate it. More
