Chateau Morrisette Winery and Restaurant is known for its quality Virginia wines, its scenic location along the Blue Ridge Parkway, its Black Dog Music Festivals and other special events, as well as its top-notch fine dining restaurant. The winery is open 7-days a week and offers wine tastings for $8 per person (for $2 more you may keep the souvenir glass). The tasting includes a tour of our winery. Hours vary by day of the week. The Chateau Restaurant is open Wed-Thu 11-2, Fri - Sat 11-9, and Sun 11-4. Open for lunch everyday in October. Guests may purchase wine by the bottle or glass and spend time relaxing in our courtyard, in a private gazebo, or from our terrace overlooking the scenic New River Valley. Live entertainment is offered every Sunday afternoons, June through October and we invite guests to check our website for the many special events we produce throughout the year, including the Black Dog Music Festivals.

I know very little about wine -- I like sweet wine, something I'm told characterizes Trump voters -- but I know a great deal about customer service and the management at Chateau Morrisette is among the most customer-oriented I've ever encountered. We had a problem with our order that we didn't discover until we were back home. It was solved... More

I had been wanting to go there for years and I finally got to go. I was not disappointed. The drive was beautiful on the way there. We did a tasting and bought lots of wine. 😀 I highly recommend!!

Thank you for your nice review and rating. I'm glad you finally made it up the mountain to see us. We are located along the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Park Service does not allow signage. We do recommend that everyone check the website for directions before leaving home. This is especially true during the winter months when the Parkway... More

Right off the Parkway, a few miles north of Mabry Mill. A large gift/wine shop, tours of the winery, tasting room, and a restaurant. The gift/wine shop is pet-friendly, too. Arriving late in the afternoon, we were not able to go on the winery tour or the tasting room. Also, we need to find out if you can dine on... More

Thanks for the nice review and rating. We welcome dogs here at the winery and they are allowed to dine with you on the terrace during the warmer months. State laws prohibit dogs inside the restaurant or in the cellar itself. The Tasting Room Gift Shop is fine. All dogs must be well behaved and leashed throughout their visit. Please... More

My husband and I had reservations for lunch the day after Thanksgiving. The restaurant and winery are located in a lovely setting just off the parkway. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and offered a choice of seating. We chose a nice table near a stained glass window. We started with soup of the day which sounded wonderful as our... More

Thank you for your review. I will share your comments with our Chef and with our Tasting Room Manager. The Tasting sheets change weekly. During the busiest months, they change a couple of times a week. Often the decision of which wines to taste are based on availability and supply. Our high end wines are featured and rotated on the... In a beautiful setting, staffed by very friendly staff, serving delicious wine. This is a must stop for anyone who has an interest in wine. A glance at their label will quickly let you know that this is a very dog friendly. I very much enjoyed my stay there and I am anxious to go back.

Thank you for visiting and reviewing. For folks who may not know about our dog label, the original winery black lab, Hans, was a constant companion to our owner David Morrisette in the early days of the winery, and even lapped up the occasional spill. When Hans passed in 1995, he was memorialized in a watercolor that now graces most... More

We visited Chateau Morrisette Winery Restaurant for brunch. The food was amazing. The service may seem slow, but unlike some restaurants, they do not rush you to get you seated, served and out the door. We enjoyed being able to sit and drink our coffee while enjoying the fire and the lovely mountain views. After we finished eating, we lingered... More

We are grateful for patrons such as yourself who appreciate that visiting our Winery and Restaurant is truly 'An Experience to Savor'. Tastings are $10 for ten wines, including our souvenir dancing dogs glasses (with seasonally changing color, currently in Autumn Gold), $2 less without the glasses. Thank you for your visit and review - we look forward to seeing... More

Disappointed there was a cost to taste.. Georgia winery has no cost. Grounds were beautiful, as I love this part of Virginia, I look forward to visiting other winery's in the area when I come to visit family.

Thank you for your feedback. Most Virginia wineries charge for tastings. At Chateau Morrisette, you receive a half oz. pour of ten different wines. This is equivalent to one glass of wine. Additionally, the tasting is hosted and takes about twenty minutes to complete. You also get to keep the souvenir glass. The cost is $10 per adult. Perhaps next... More

DON'T order glasses at the bar while waiting. $24 for 2 glasses, at table a bottle (4 glasses) of same $33 (we drank 2). They didn't suggest a bottle at the bar. Sure, it was my fault for not informing myself, but I don't appreciate it and probably won't go back. Now, the food: our party of 4 enjoyed our... More

Thank you for your review and feedback. Our wine by the glass is priced competitively with other restaurants and sells for between $3 and $12 per glass depending on the wine you select. It is always more affordable to purchase by the bottle and guests are welcome to do so at the bar as well as at the table. They... More

First time there for my family. Beautiful place and lunch menu was great. Mom and hubby had the petite steak plate and I had the pulled pork sandwich, which was absolutely delicious! I am a huge french fry person and theirs were off the chart good! Only complaint was with the service....so slow and you never saw your waiter again.... More

Thank you for the very kind words about our restaurant and I'm glad you enjoyed the food. I will share your comments with Chef. As for the service, I'm very sorry that happened. Thank you for your very kind words about Chateau Morrisette. I'll make sure Ray knows how much you enjoyed his tasting. October is a very busy month with so many people traveling the Parkway to see the leaves changing. It is our busiest month of the year and a beautiful time to visit, but it does require patience. The tasting... More
