Chateau Morrisette Winery and Restaurant is known for its quality Virginia wines, its scenic location along the Blue Ridge Parkway, its Black Dog Music Festivals and other special events, as well as its top-notch fine dining restaurant. The winery is open 7-days a week and offers wine tastings for $8 per person (for $2 more you may keep the souvenir glass). The tasting includes a tour of our winery. Hours vary by day of the week. The Chateau Restaurant is open Wed-Thu 11-2, Fri - Sat 11-9, and Sun 11-4. Open for lunch everyday in October. Guests may purchase wine by the bottle or glass and spend time relaxing in our courtyard, in a private gazebo, or from our terrace overlooking the scenic New River Valley. Live entertainment is offered every Sunday afternoons, June through October and we invite guests to check our website for the many special events we produce throughout the year, including the Black Dog Music Festivals.

nice stop on the blue ridege parkway

They were one of the first wineries in the area and have a few good vintages. Kudos for establishing a tasting barn and shop.

Fun tour through a working winery. Knowledgeable guide who shared fun stories of the winery, wine & area. Wish we'd had time to eat at the restaurant!

The winery comprises 2 separate buildings, the restaurant and the winery. Visited the winery and enjoyed the regular tasting of the wines. Lots of interesting condiments and the like in the store. The building itself is heavy timber frame construction and stone. An interesting architectural structure. A covered seating area outside to enjoy some wine and occasional live music. Views... More

Thanks for your visit and thoughtful review. Our regular live music happens Sundays 1-4p June through October. This year we have a mix of Americana styles, with jazz the first Sunday of each month. A few special Saturdays might include music too. Glad you enjoyed your time with us! More

Wine is very good. Nice place for couples to go and relax, have a glass or bottle of wine. Check it out!

It had been a while since we last ate at Chateau Morrisette. Honestly, the reviews we had been receiving from friends did not encourage us to make the trip. We stopped on the way back from traveling and we more than pleasantly surprised. The food was great and our waiter was first class. We would certainly recommend and we will... More

Thanks for your faith in us (or spirit of adventure in the face of poor reports!) and for taking time to review us. There are seasons in fine dining establishments, just as in a garden. We're glad you found our changes to your liking. More

Our lunch was not only delicious but was also very reasonably priced. The small plates are certainly adequate for lunch. My husband's burger was huge and he shared his side salad with me. My crab cakes were full of crab meat, well-prepared and much larger than the average appetizer. We did not visit the winery or participate in a wine-tasting... More

The Sunday brunch experience was a major disappointment! The restaurant greeter was rude & our waiter was incompetent. They no longer have the Sunday brunch buffet, the reason we drove the hour from Blacksburg, VA. The food was served lukewarm and was only passable. I would give Chateau Morrisette the benefit of the doubt about this experience as being a... More

Thank you for your feedback. I will share your comments with the Chef and with our Front of House Manager. There is no excuse for rudeness here at Chateau Morrisette and I will address it with staff immediately. As for the brunch, we have not had the all-you-can- eat brunch for two years, except on Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day... More

Our car club caravan stopped here for lunch while touring the Blue Ridge Parkway. When pulling in to park we found they had cordoned off an area just for us and had a nice welcome sign out. There are two large, architecturally beautiful buildings - one houses the restaurant, the othe the wine tasting room and unique gift shop/retail wine... More

We visited the winery in early June for a wine tasting and stayed for lunch at the restaurant before heading into Floyd to check out the shops and art. We thoroughly enjoyed our tasting and conversing with the staff at the winery who were very knowledgeable about their products. We really love the wine from here! Afterwards, we proceeded to... First time we have been here in almost 20 years. WOW! Big changes. Grown from what was a small Mom & Pop to a very nice Winery. Tasting and tour $10 per person. Wine was good, staff was friendly. The Winery is a timber frame building built with reclaimed wood. It is magnificent! We took our dog Elvis to the... More
