The rain finally deterred the protestors, and I understand the security at the entrance but the attendants were quite pleasant and helpful. The displays are amazing and a bit overwhelming. I'm not that into guns so seeing some of the minute differences, inlays and extreme craftsmanship sometimes was hard for me (not knowing what to look for. Felt like a... More

This is a wonderfully laid out and interesting museum tracing the evolution of the firearm. I was very surprised. I am not sure what I was expecting but what I saw was not what I had anticipated. Free to enter. Worth a visit for 60 minutes if in the area.

My husband made me come here, however, I was fascinated when I got there, I was able to see what guns and weapons were used for each war going way back to when our country was born. Its a must see for every patriot

I LOVE this place and have visited numerous times. It is "user friendly" as they say today and has so much history in such a small area. Firearms used in movies, owned by Teddy Roosevelt, and of course the Bill Ruger wing!!!! You will also see so many from different historical times in our nation and this is a place... More

My husband and son are big gun fans so we always look for arms museums on our visits from the UK and I dutifully plod round after them trying to show interest!! Not at this museum- I LOVED IT!! It is arranged in themes with other items to compliment the arms which made it far more interesting. I loved the... More

I have visited the NRA Firearms Museum several times for several hours each time, and every time I visit I see something new and interesting. The special exhibits change but the basic collection stays the same, and the setup with touch TV exhibits to describe the pieces on display are very well done. It is a great place ot study... More

The museum has unique weapons - presentation pieces, movie pieces, Gatling guns, even a wheellock that came over on the Mayflower! Well worth a visit.

There are a lot of different kinds of guns, some of which I did not know existed. Quite an interesting visit! There is not admission fee. There is a donation container. We bought some Christmas presents at the gift shop at a very good price.

We stopped on our way back from Luray Caverns last weekend. Two adult couples with the guys being gun aficionados = a good afternoon! The museum was very interesting with many different types of guns, hand guns, rifles, shotguns, cannons, etc. Everything was well labeled and separated by category/time period/war. We had a fun time wandering through the ,u swum... More

Well worth the trip from downtown Washington DC, full of historical data and craftsmanship. Well laid out, all exhibits well labeled, an excellent way to spend 2-3 hours.
