Loved visiting DuCard! The setting is perfect for social distancing with tables spread far apart on the lawn. The view is amazing! We enjoyed a fight of wine and learned about the winery from the owner, Scott. The wine was delicious! Had to take a couple bottles home! Highly recommend for anyone wanting to take in the fall colors while enjoying a glass of Virginia wine.

We visited this vineyard in Sept 2014 and loved it. I'm sorry it took us 6 years to get back there because our recent visits in July and October were outstanding. There is plenty of outdoor seating to social distance (which they are serious about). It was a perfect place to enjoy both their whites (Viognier and Chardonnay) when it was 90 degrees in July and their reds (we did a flight of their Bourdeaux blends, Merlot and Norton) in October. Every wine we tasted was excellent, the Bourdeaux blends the best I've ever tasted in Virginia. The French wine maker has been at this vineyard for 13 years and you can tell he brought a lot of knowledge from France with him. The vineyard is intimate and tucked away in a hollow very near the trail heads for hiking White Oak Canyon or staying at Graves Mountain Lodge. Truly a gem.

Hard to find but so worth the beautiful drive! Magnificent scenery. Cab franc was very good. Can not beat a good glass of wine by a babbling brook looking at the changing leaves!

We had a wonderful time after visiting Shenandoah, and this was a perfect spot to visit afterwards. Sprawling views and a picturesque setting makes this one of my favorite wineries. I didn't love the charcuterie but I'm glad I gave it a try. I fell in love with the dessert board (perfection!) and thoroughly enjoyed our wine flights. We will definitely return for more port and Curvee. We definitely will bring home more of the Petit Verdot and Norton. And the wine-filled chocolates! Thanks to Beth and Cora (especially) for a wonderful experience

We each had the $10 tasting. Our favorite was the Viognier, but we liked several of the other wines as well. All in all the quality of the wines was above the average for Virginia wineries. The staff were friendly and obliging, and knowledgeable about the winery and its wines. Our staff person (Chris) even poured a taste of a wine that was not on the tasting list. We had our picnic lunch outside on the patio listening to a classic babbling brook. The owner made a point of stopping by all the tables and chatting with his visitors. That was a nice personal touch that we appreciated. Although we had brought our own food, the charcuterie platters that were served to some other visitors looked good and were fairly priced. The owner does a good marketing job in a low-key manner and this includes having obtained an official Tesla charging station (note: we personally do not own an electric vehicle). The weekend live music is appropriately themed and at an appropriate volume. We would recommend to friends, and we would return.

Thanks for coming out. We're all about memorable personal service in a great environment. Glad it was a match for you. March 2020 update: We remain open for bottle sales and curbside pick up. Sitting on back lawns with a bottle of wine can provide a much needed period of quiet contemplation and peace, overlooking mountains, stream, and vines. We have also set up nationwide shipping with discounts.
