My wife and I have stopped in here twice now on anniversary trips. Both times we were treated to friendly staff and the owners always take the time to see how you are doing. The winery grounds are well kept with lots of space to roam and enjoy the outdoors.

Cozy winery attended by husband and wife. Former military. This was our 2nd stop on the wine bus tour. Tables were reserved for our group. Lovely views. Friendly service, and we left with bottles of wine.

I came here on September 6th at around 5:30 PM with 5 of my friends. We are a diverse group however, I was the only African American woman. I am aware of the current political climate and was weary of interactions with people in a small town. However, this was our last day and our 6th winery. All of the places we had visited had been wonderful, so I expected the same experience at Wolf Gap. Especially, after my friend said the reviews were good. That was a mistake. I think your experience is much different if you’re black or brown. I say this because the man working at the winery, who was much older, immediately came over and demanded my ID. Mind you, I was with 2 other white males. He also asked for my brown friends ID. We were the darkest people in our friend group and I found it odd that he only asked for our identification. I asked him if he was going to ID anyone else. He looked me in the eye and said “no, not really”. When he realized how absurd that was, he then preceded to tell me that he couldn’t believe that I was only 30 and completely disregarded everyone else’s ID that was out and walked over to my brown friend and looked at hers.
When he came back to see what everyone wanted to drink, I told him I changed my mind and would not be drinking to which he replied, “disregard the ID thing”. The consensus at the table was that we needed to leave. Especially when a large group of white women (who were very intoxicated and loud) had been seated not too long afterward, and were never asked to take out their ID’s but instead served alcohol fairly quickly. My friend asked for the check only to be dismissed and shooed off by him as if we were just a thorn in his side. I would never treat someone that way. Simply because I was not raised that way. I do not and will not tolerate discrimination and would never, under any circumstances recommend this winery to anyone. I will also be sure to relay this information on other platforms. If you don’t want to support an establishment that thinks it’s okay to discriminate others, I highly recommend Brix and Columns Vineyards and Marceline Vineyards.

Very nice young man with much knowledge of wines conducted our wine tasting: seven different very good wines (red, white, and blush) for $7 apiece. Very pleasant experience. We bought a bottle of one of the really good wines.

I visited about 2 weeks ago for my birthday. I like to go and try new wineries each Saturday with my friends...Let's begin with parking, as we pull up there were no parking signs. We saw an elderly gentlemen outside and asked after driving all around the building "where can we park". He wasn't welcoming and acted like we should know where to park. No signs! Kind of rude and short. Later finding out he was the owner.
Next he asked us about masks. I said I have one because I haven't been vaccinated. He said he appreciated my honestly when I was wearing a mask and the visitor I was with was vaccinated and didn't have one. He led us up to the tasting room deck area an d said wait here. We have never been here and we made reservations for inside knowing it was cold and rainy. He said we were his only reservation that day and welcome. It was dreary misting and cold 50's. He made us stay outside because I wasn't vaccinated. I WAS wearing my mask though but that wasn't good enough and it changed from the previous plan we had. So "Kylie" came out to serve us 1 bottle at a time of a tasting outside in the cold and rain. I couldn't imagine doing this one trip at a time for 9 different wines to try. When we got to the the second wine on the list, we asked if we can come in because of the rain and cold. We had reservations to be inside and we don't know why we are made to sit outside. She said she was told not to allow us in. I thought that was not right and being mistreated on a level, we never had experienced at a winery. So she had us come in and sit in their furor area. (making sure I kept my mask on in between tastings). No one else was in there. I heard a couple in another room but didn't see anyone. This is a garage apartment NTO a tasting room. Do not be fooled and come here. This was the most different kind of winery I have been too, The bathroom was to an apt that had a shower. She rang us up in the kitchen of an apt. 2 tables set up is all that would fit in there, one being the dining room table. The wines were good. We spent a pretty penny there and drove an hour away for us to be given a less expensive wine on the way out. The wrong bottle. We paid more for another wine and didn't receive it. They didn't seem to know what wine they had or didn't. The server didn't seem educated on the wine either. She had to call the owner over to grab the reserves we purchased. So we didn't want to drive an hour back to trade out the wine and we just reached out by phone. The lady who answered said she would ship the correct bottle out that we paid for and she would take care of the cost. I offered to trade some how or pay for the one we have, She said no. She got all of my info. 2 weeks later I called and asked where the bottle was. The owner brushed me off the phone saying he was very busy and they will call me the next day. No one called me back. I ended up calling and the lady on the phone said she would bring it to my house. Very nice of her right, well not really, she "dropped off" (because she didn't want to have contact with anyone, and gave yet again the wrong wine. This place makes me laugh. They can't seem to get it together. 2013 Meriage Reserve is all we wanted but still can't seem to get what we paid for. Their loss. They are the worst place I can say I have been too. Bad customer service, really bad location and on and on. A few of their wines were good. We tried to purchase them, but I guess they rather send out other bottles than the right ones you pay big dollar for. I now see they are for sale. Good luck to them and hope they don't screw anyone over.

Annually my husband and I travel to Virginia for a vacation that includes visiting wineries. On our way south on 81 we detour off and visit Will and Diane at Wolf Gap Vineyard. This year we were unaware that the vineyard was only open on Saturday and Sunday during the winter. As we started to leave, Will pulled into the drive and greeted us. He proceeded to open the tasting room for us. We only drink dry wines and as usual were not disappointed in the taste. Two cases of wine later, two very pleased "wino's" proceeded on their trip. There is a tasting fee which is waived when wine is purchased.

We were intrigued by the name but were very disappointed. We didn't enjoy any if the wines. And the tasting room is a Formica counter in a kitchen above a garage. No ambiance. I should have known based on the quality if the website but tried it anyway. There are many better places to go.

Beautiful grounds and great wine. We stopped here during our trip to the Shenandoah region and enjoyed two glasses of wine and a bottle of Lobo Loco to take home. Marc was so pleasant and offered us samples from the wine list. This is a great event space that has a beautiful walking path dotted with wildflowers, benches, and plenty of natural beauty. We loved our hour here!

Nice views, great live music, ok wine but a great, happy vibe on the porch. They turned on the heaters & people were happy & dancing- a good time!
