We have been to CLSP a few times and have always enjoyed it. This visit was no different. One bathhouse in the loop. It is decent and clean and has 3 shower stalls. Each stall has an outer section with a small bench and a few hooks. Many of the sites are not shaded. It has a cozy feel to... More

7 bucks for non-residents to enter State park. We spent 2 hours canoeing which was about 26 dollars total. Beautiful lake with beautiful scenery. It wasn't too crowded. Staff was nice and helpful.

I came here with my four teen age boys tent camping for the weekend. The campground was very, very clean, well maintained, and there seemed to be plenty of staff to maintain it well. If you want a camping spot with electricity or water, reserve it early. I reserved two weeks prior to the trip and there were none available,... More

We visited for a couple days during the week. We are tent campers. The fee for camping seemed a little bit stiff, approximately $25 per night, no electricity or water at our site. The highlight is the lake. Very nice marge, sandy swimming beach. The problem with the beach, I think, are the lifeguards. There are three lifeguard chairs. However,... More

Our family and friends visited Claytor Lake State Park in October 2015. We were there on the Halloween weekend and it was a delightful experience. One evening we all dressed in costumes, I was a hippie, we had Donald and Hillary lookalikes, world travelers and ghosts... The cabin was wonderfully decorated with all the conveniences of home. Bedrooms and bathrooms... More

Campsites are very spacious and also pretty private the way they have designed them. Great for kids with plenty of places to ride their bikes. Has a nice beach area on the lake for swimming. Entire park is beautiful and well maintained. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed at Claytor Lake for a long weekend camping trip. There are 3 loops of tent camping. All of the loops are great but I would recommend the A loop. The sites are HUGE and able to accommodate a boat trailer. The sites are a little close to each other but since they are large you can still get... More

Stopped on a whim to walk the dog and my husband didn't really want to pay the fee at first. SO glad we did. The young man at the kiosk was charming and nice with many compliments for you pooch. The park is extremely well maintained with much to offer. We walked the Lakeview Trail and got a nice overview... More

I have been coming here for years. It a great place with or without family. You can bring your dog too just not on the beach area. They have a place to purchase swimming items and food. They also have a playground for children.

I really enjoyed hiking at Claytor Lake State Park. The trail that we took overlooked over the Lake. It was beautiful. The trail didn't have trash on it like some that I've hiked on. Make sure you have cash for parking.
