I've been coming to the state park for 30+ years and it just keeps getting better. This is the best maintained campground I've ever visited. They are have been cutting new hiking trails which is a nice complement to the existing trail system. They are all easy walking trails. 7.4 miles today!!! Fishing for catfish from the bank with live... More

Unfortunately we only stayed a quick night here with our travel trailer as a stop on our way to Arkansas. Camper/RV campers: the sites are not private really, but very conducive for pulling in; lots of sites are horseshoe and pull through. There really isn't any trees in between sites, but that being said I actually really liked the layout... More

We visited this park mid October to do some easy hiking as it was rather warm. Very nice park, well maintained with plenty of restrooms. The trails were easy as expected but very nice, through woodland and near the lake. Very enjoyable.

We went in late Sept. to meet some family for a reunion. This park exceeded our expectations. It was absolutely beautiful! The lake, the marina, the cabins, the trails...everything was amazing! I suppose in high season it is crawling with people, but the end of Sept. absolutely charming! The only thing I would of liked was the RV park area... More

This park is really nice even though they do not have sewer hook ups for their RV sites. You can rent cabins, boats and other watercraft there. There's a marina with boat lauch area and fuel. They have what they call a Lodge that will sleep 16 people. I think there are 3 of them. All the cabins have lake... More

Very well maintained state park with lots to offer. Love the beach area for swimming, the marina for boating and all the great spots for picnics! Everything you could need for camping too. Make sure to check out Mountain 2 Island for paddle board or kayak rentals!

I really wanted to give the park five stars but I could not. The beach is nice, the rangers are friendly, and the fishing is good. On the down side the restrooms need modernizing and they could be better taken care off. Still I highly recommend giving the park a visit.

We have been to CLSP a few times and have always enjoyed it. This visit was no different. One bathhouse in the loop. It is decent and clean and has 3 shower stalls. Each stall has an outer section with a small bench and a few hooks. Many of the sites are not shaded. It has a cozy feel to... More
