Chiles and Carter's Mountain orchards are both great places to go pick apples and peaches. Carter's mountain has gotten too busy but Chiles remains fairly 'countryish' although it can get busy during peak seasons. Great supporters of the community and excellent baked goods and ice cream as well as fresh strawberries, peaches, pumpkins and apples depending on the season.

This is a tradition in Crozet. However, in my experience, the peaches are only so-so and you need to pick your own as the ones they offer in the store are always picked too early (IMO). Still, a fun place to go for peach frozen yogurt, strawberries, fudge, etc. Just don't expect great peaches unless you hit it just right... More

We didn't pick our own peaches, but we didn't need to. There were bushels of loose peaches already picked! We treated ourselves to tasty cones of Peach & Vanilla Ice Cream Twists and purchased freshly made cider donuts and peach pie (both delicious)! There were some vintage toys; tee shirts, kitchen gadgets, and homemade assorted fudge for sale, as well.... More

Their peaches are over the top + you can go and pick them yourself, during the season. Lots of yummy jars of things made with peaches, which I am now taking to friends in Nova Scotia. Great gifts + great tasty fruit +

Very pleasant market with orchards surrounding it. Saw young families picking their own vegetables and having a good time. We got a bushel of good looking peaches ($50) and some very tasty peach ice cream. Very pleasant staff. Also picked up a pointer on "teaching kids math---eat half of their ice cream"....

We stopped off at Chiles after a visit to Wintergreen. The orchard is a little way off the main road but easily found. It works the same as Carter Mountain apple picking but it’s on level ground so no walking up and down a mountain. The farm stall is well stocked with pre-picked peaches if you don’t want to pick... As we headed back home from Charlottesville to Chevy Chase, we decided to make a little side trip to Crozet, Va, about half an hour west of Charlottesville, via U.S. Route 250. Our aim was to visit Chile’s Peach Orchard and the diversion was quite worthwhile. The drive wound through some placid, verdant country, and led us deep into the... More

It was a hot July day when we went peach picking at Chiles but we got some beautiful and delicious peaches. Even better was the peach ice cream we have to cool down after picking. A tasting at the adjoining cider bar rounded out a great time.

My fiance and I have gone here for the past couple years to pick peaches and have enjoyed seeing grow every year. With not just peaches to pick, we enjoyed picking pumpkins, drinking peach shakes and taking in the views

We went on a Friday night when they had music. The people who attended seemed to know each other. It was a local gathering and we were probably in someone's seat. The food was good and musicians were better than most. We will go back every time we are here. Next time we will pick some peaches.
