The Lake is a great place to Fish, swim, Hike and Camp. It is not cold and the water is very clear. The roads system is maintaned by the State.

Lake Moomwaw has a variety of picnic areas for small and large family gatherings. Sheltered picnic areas are also available. Family can take a scenic walk, spend time fishing, swimming or just sitting around relaxing before and after the picnic.

Built by the Army Corps of Engineers in the 1970s, Lake Moomaw provides excellent recreatinal opportunities along with flood reduction capabilities and water quality control. The recreational facilities are operated by the US Forest Service.

The only place that one can get sporadic phone service is at the picnic grounds.

I would say yes since we saw motorboats on the lake along with canoes, kayaks and pontoons.
