Southpark Mall was much better than I thought it might be for a relatively small area like the Tri-Cities. It is actually quite walkable, being rather long, and has seemingly a full stock of stores and kiosks without any real sense of vacancy. It is clear it is a relic of a prior time - however it seems to be swimming along still quite alright. I found it clean, spacious, and with a mid-20th century feel in terms of the building design and general atmosphere. Overall it was much better than I thought it might be and, as one of the only malls in the Southern Richmond area, is actually nicer looking than the other one in Chester Towne Center perhaps.

I go this mainly to get my eyebrows threaded at Aroma Spa. The lady rhat does my eyebrows works on Fri/Sat. There are 2 other women that do threading also but in my years of getting eyebrows waxed/threading you have to go to the same person on a regular basis. No two people will do you the same. My girl takes her time on my brows and cuts diwn any wild hair that may be growing out that prevents my eyebrows from looking perfect. I get compliments where ever i go. Not just from ladies...men also. AROMA SPA is right outside of Macy's on the right hand side.

When the mall was first built (as most malls are) it was fantastic, but unfortunately (as most malls have) it has reached it peak and is not the crown jewel of Colonial Heights it once was. With that being said, its still the only local shopping center available to this area so we make do. We once had a fantastic kitchen accessory store that pulled out after several years, there were more shops for a nicer line of clothing (i.e. Dillards and others) which are no more. If the anchor stores, Macys, Penneys and Sears pull out, I think the mall will be no more. There are too many tennis shoes being sold, too many "hip" clothing stores so someone of my generation either finds what they want at the anchors or heads to Richmond. The movie theater seems to thrive, the food court (in my opinion) is so-so. A Bed, Bath and Beyond would be a nice addition, some clothing and accessory stores for someone over the age of 21 would be a move in the right direction. I don't know if the rent is too high to keep the better stores in and they don't come or stay because the socioeconomic of the surrounding area cannot support them or what the contributing factor is. Dick's Sporting took over Dillard's (hence MORE tennis shoes) and there are always rumors that Macys is leaving. Sears is supposedly having financial troubles in general so I'm not sure if Southpark will be a long time player in this arena.

This mall has a theater and food court, but I’ve never heard of most of the stores here. Tons of shoe and clothing shops.

Go to richmond. This place isnt a real mall and the folks randomly hanging out here not buying anything at all was a huge off putting thing. The stores are in disrepair and the food court is non existent.

Sad to see a once vibrant shopping center center continue to deteriorate. Since Dillard's left a few years ago this mall has become a collection of small independent shops selling lower quality merchandise with lots of teenagers just hanging out. Not a place to spend a day.

First let me say I am not a mall shopper. I do like the holiday decorations Southpark does but all of the stores other than the anchor stores (Macy's, Sears, Penneys) seem to be geared to young teens.

This mall has been dying a slow death since the departure of Dillards a couple years ago. The Macy's here is small and has few designer brands and mostly low end merchandise, which, I guess, is a reflection of the community that it serves. The rest of the stores in the mall are a hodge podge of variety type stores. So, if you're looking for a serious shopping opportunity, head to Richmond or the outlets in Williamsburg because this ain't the place!

Two anchor stores, movie theater, and a food court! Very few empty stores. What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
