My family has been going to Westmoreland since I was a child (over 30 years ago) and some of my favorite childhood memories are associated with this park. Recently, there was an incident with the park ranger giving my brother a ticket for trespassing after...More

I am so sorry for your experience. I can only explain that the issue is that our neighbor - Stratford Hall - has been very upset about our visitors trespassing on their property and they do not allow fossil hunting. Before we agreed to be...More

We have been here twice over the last 2 months. It is a great place to kayak, swim, and do some easy trails. Gets very busy on holidays and Saturdays. For example, 4th of July parking filled up and park closed before 10am. If you...More

We stayed in one of the cabins and had the best time. Everything we needed was right there. Trails to hike and the river and shoreline to explore. Camping sites and a pool also there.

We spent two nights in one of the air-conditioned cabins in late June. Enjoyed no TV or radio. Quite corner of the park, but walking distance to the waterfront. Unfortunately, small craft warnings on the Potomac shut down kayak rentals. Very friendly staff. Close to...More

Took the family and children here to hunt for sharks teeth. While we found a few small ones, after a lot of searching, this park's beach appears to be very well looked over already. The park itself those is gorgeous and has a lot to...More
