I've walked this many times over the years, mostly with dogs in tow. It is a very pleasant trail stretching from Blacksburg to Christiansburg. People are always friendly along it and I have never had anything but a pleasant experience.

We are grandparents of a 5 year old and thought it would be great to take him on an outing and walk part of the Huckleberry Trail. It was really a challenge and one we won't do again. We gave it two shots but not a third. The bicycles were horrible. True, it is a great place to bike BUT... More

If you look for a great cycling, running, skating or just a walking trail near Blacksburg or Christiansburg, this is your place! Nice mixed scenario of forest and farm fields surrounding a 7+ mile paved quit and secure trail. Some parts can be too sunny during summer time. It could benefit from some drinking water fountains, both for people and... More

Nice to place to walk. It does provide shade from the sun and cool breezes. But, I do not recommend walking after dark alone it doesn't feel safe.

This trail is a pretty easy trail to traverse, either walking, running, or bike riding. It is usually a very safe place and it goes through different areas of Blacksburg and Christiansburg. Nice place to visit!

The walk isn't strenuous, most spots are level or very slight inclines. You make also bike the trails. It's peaceful and serene, but not so secluded that you feel unsafe. There are always plenty of others on the path, but it never feels crowded. Enjoy taking in some history along the old train tracks as well.

Stopped here to stretch our legs in the midst of a long drive. Once you get past the strip malls, it's a very nice walk. Park behind the new Kohl's where you can do the same. Look for the yellow gates and the big wooden board with the trail map on the outskirts of the parking lot. Take the trail... More

I ran from my home down to Route 114. I went on the Huckleberry Trail and crossed over the bridge over 114. It definitely gives you a totally different perspective of the view of the road and the traffic. The mall looks different from up higher also. The trail is a pleasant run except for the bikers that are inconsiderate... More
