What a wonderful park this is! It’s definitely worth bringing your kids here to enjoy the big playgrounds they have. They also have a picnic pavilion, kayak launch, basketball court, tennis court, and restroom. The equipment here is great. We stayed in a house across the street so were there a lot. We stayed four days and saw somebody from the city doing something at the park three of the days. One was just trash, the other was evening out mulch, and another was drying off the tennis courts after a rain. So it is a very well cares for place! The kids loved it and spent lots of time here!

wA nice lady at the visitors center on the refuge steered us to this place. Needed to purchase a weekly parking pass to park here(I think $5, available at municipal building). Special parking for kayakers only. Rubber/plastic dock/kayak launch with pull bar allows dry entry into water across from the Island refuge. With tide coming in, took about 45 minutes to paddle over to tip of island. Convenient- we liked it. Having nevber used the entry dock before(guess we are pretty primative!) it was nice getting in dry. Exiting kayak onto dock was interesting-I jammed my boat between dock and wall so it wouldn't move and used the bar to get out pretty easily- but people were getting creative in exiting other ways. Nice park, was there right before pony swim, at which point it will be a total mad-house- but a great spot to drop your boat in.

The park offers a playground, bathroom, boat launch and a free public fishing or crabbing pier.
This is painfree way to-have a good family trip and satisfy everyone, from the pier you can see the light house.
I recommend this park for a free fun filled afternoon or early evening, we did several times to break up the day and fillin some free activity. Everyone needs to save a little money on vacation without the kids knowing, right mom and dad.
I hope this was helpful 👍🏻

Activities department sucks. They either don’t show up or do half the time. Water park is good but lazy river needs daily cleaning because things floating around in it. Jumping pillow is crowded and the big kids ruin it for the little ones just trying to jump.

What a great place! Lots for kids to do, plus there's a basketball court and kayak launch and boardwalk. Shuttle stops by here and there's also plenty of parking. Clean, too. Easy to get to from downtown. Highly recommended.

We had 6 adults and 2 children under 8-years-old. Everyone found something they liked about this park! In my family, that spells success.

Great place for a picnic. You can walk around the deck or just watch the waves. There is a playground for the kids.
And it is free.

Such a lively place we discovered to enjoy our picnic lunch. Clean, well kept with garbage cans. Parking and it's all free!

If you make the complete drive around the island you go right by it. A place to eat lunch or just walk and look around. You can tell they people in the area take great pride in the park.
